Beware of These Cryptocurrency Scams.steemCreated with Sketch.

Onecoin is a pyramid scheme that is claiming to be a cryptocurrency worth 12 euros a coin. You have to buy the coins through these "packages" they have on their website onelife.eu and they are claiming to release a cryptocurrency in the 2nd quarter of the 2018 year. My dads friend actually "invested" 19,000$ and bought the premium trader package, and thats how I found out about Onecoin. Its sick that they use our markets name to steal millions of dollars from people every year

Onecoin hosts at rallies have been arrested and are being investigated by authorities, they were caught with 5 million dollars of scammed money. Just be careful guys, when you are wanting to invest in something research it first and find out if anything sketchy has been going on in the company.

Also beware of scam sites like jet-coin.com, they ask for bitcoins and in "return" you get your bitcoins doubled every 60 days and give you a 5% to 18% in binary earnings. never trust anything where you give someone bitcoins to get more back, 100% of the time a scam.

I have also come across some faucets that promise to generate 1/10th or 1/20th of bitcoins after you sign up and then show a progress screen on your computer - for minutes to make you believe that it really is happening and then they will say "your .108762 BTC is ready to be transferred, however, BTC costs to transfer and you need to deposit the 'fees' to process the Transfer."

To make it look legal - they bombard the webpage with what appear to be 'genuine real time' testimonials...

In addition to these scam coins, people (especially newbies) should be aware of these FREE coin/Faucet/ICO scams...
