There's been lots of cases I heard that MEW (My EtherWallet) has been hacked.
Hackers keep trying to steal out money from MEW because THERE ARE PEOPLE STILL GETTING HACKED!
I'm going to share MEW Hacking technique and the corresponding prevention method.
Phishing Sites
The below screenshot shows notification e-mail bombfrom Slack.
The title goes : Notifications from Blitz workspace for October xx
I joined Blitz Slack long time ago, so I got this notification e-mail from Blitz, at least it seems so.
But it's not from blitz, but from bitalize.slck.com that you can see even not by clicking your email.
I sense the SPAM Alert, but clicked the mail for the use of posting. (Moment of nervous!!)
Please be advised that we had some problems with the Ethereum based Token smart contracts.
We decided that the best way to solve the problem is to fork the Smart Contracts.

Failure to do so may result in loss of your tokens.

Am I not the target of hacker?
Yes, we are! We can get hacked anytime if we don't stay focused.
Sometimes, we have Why on earth did I do that? I must've out of my mind situation,
and that situation can cost you a lot.
To prevent MEW hacking
1. Don't click on Phishing sites (add MEW to Bookmark)
The official MEW address is https://www.myetherwallet.com
Other phishing sites such myetherwallets, myetherwalletip deftly added 's', or 'ip', so you won't notice and makes you click the site.
Add MEW to bookmark and sign in only with this address.
2. Safely encrypt UTC
For the detailed explanation, let's generate new MEW add.
Create your passphrase and generate wallet

★ After downloading your Keystone file, Lock the file once again★
Not only MEW, but all the wallet.dat file should be locked for your own sake.
3. Don't use common computer
There are lots of cases people used common computer that made them lose all their money.
Except for your personal PC, please keep yourself using crypto exchange or crypto wallet using common computer.
4. Use Hardware Wallet
Until now, using hardware wallet such as Trezor or Nano Ledger is the safest way to keep your asset.
It took 3-5months for the delivery, but now it only takes a week.
Looking at the cases getting hacked, we can see where the money goes thanks to the Open Ledger.
But we can only check where the money went, but we cannot find the owner of the wallet.
Which means you CAN'T get your money back once you get hacked.
Therefore, please be aware before it happens.
I think the term hacked is overused. Most cases are bout clicking the bait. Hacking is cracking. Phising is prevented by staying cautious.
