A Steemit Image Sizing Experiment: What's the Ideal Size?

in steemit •  7 years ago

One thing that's been challenging for me - long-time blogger, but new-er to Steemit - is how to use images to your advantage.

For instance, if you're sharing a "meme" or a quote with words on it, how big should the image be?

Well, to attempt to find an answer, we went back to our previous posts, then we checked out what ended up being shared as the image on the left-hand side, then we tried to create something that would potentially work.

Let the Experiment Begin!

First of all, the first image that you include in your post appears to be the image that accompanies the post on the Steemit home page. So that means you should use your strongest image up front - any other image becomes part of the post, but isn't used as the attention-grabber.

Second, pictures of people SEEM to do better than quotes - but hey, I'm an average-looking guy, so I can't really use good looks as a grabber.

SO we go with an image with text most of the time. AND here's the one we created:
600.jpg

600 x 340 - that's the way to go (maybe)

Now, the only way we'll know if this works is when we post this and see the comments - so let us know in the comments if you have any advice, or if it looks weird to you.

We'll do a follow-up with our results.
