This chart must update only every few months. Only yesterday (and every day prior) the US was the only region shown on the map.
Interesting to see the known Steemit hotspots sticking out. South Korea, Venezuela and Nigeria for example. China at the top is interesting because Google Trends typically barely shows China, Google Search do not have much presence in the country. Slovenia, Croatia and Kosovo in the top 5 are noteworthy but may merely reflect a bias that makes smaller populations less reliable (a typical statistical phenomenon).
It's not clear in the small image but Ireland is in position 8 worldwide, woot!

These maps are proportionate to Google user population in that country. The US was on top before, but not any more, it is now #22 on the list. It's obviously still #1 in terms of pure traffic and likely pure search numbers.

I'm not sure that we are growing right now, it seems like we are down from a recent peak in June. This chart does pinpoint regional areas of growth though, in 2016 there were very few users here from Nigeria for example.

Ok, i expected high interest from Slovenia, it's a small eu country but it has one of the most known crypto exchanges in the world - bitstamp and a lot of young people there are interested in crypto. So i assume many found steemit through google searching about crypto news or maybe even about steem. I'm a lil bit surprised about high interest from Kosovo.

It means that aside from some regions which are potentially disproportionate due to sample sizes, we can see our key regions of growth on this map. Venezuela and Nigeria are promising as they are countries which recently dealt with serious problems with fiat currency, for example. You can also see that interest in Steemit is pretty broadly spread across the whole world.
