Synereo's Wildspark goes live... Finally. Anyone get a Beta invite yet?

So I have been signed up for Synereo's newsletter for quite some time, and was reminded recently that they actually have something to put out finally. @brianphobos did an excellent writeup yesterday about his thoughts on the (then upcoming) release and I tend to agree with much of what he is saying about it.

There are a lot of questions still lingering, and in the official email from Synereo they finish up by saying

"We are aware that there are many questions to be answered, and more questions will appear as the product lands in the hands of users. In the upcoming week, we will be releasing detailed information about the AMP attribution formula and flow of value as well as discuss the immediate product roadmap and the added features you’ll soon get to play with."

I know there are a few here on Steemit who were pretty excited about the launch and I'd love to hear your thoughts and input about it. Also, has anyone here gotten a Beta to play with yet? Apparently they are giving a certain amount of AMPs (Synereo's crypto currency) out for free to all the beta testers that they choose so that they have something to play around with, but that just raises more questions for me.

The reason I got into Steemit in the first place is because it was absolutely free to join, in fact they paid me to join! I think a major hurdle to most folks for getting into any type of crypto currency is that they are not sure about it, and they don't want to give their hard earned money to some sort of scam. Maybe in the future when cryptos start becoming much more common and less mysterious to the general public people won't have a problem dropping a few bucks to check out the latest thing, like paying $1.99 for an app, but for now I don't see it happening, in fact if I had never discovered Steemit I for sure would not be signing up to pay to join Wildspark.

I'm probably a bit of a Steemit fanboy at this point, but I honestly think that the model Steemit made is going to be a tough one to break. There are some who are saying that maybe Steemit is Myspace and Wildspark is Facebook, I don't know if I buy it, I feel like Steemit could be likened closer to Amazon or Ebay.

What are your thoughts Steemians? Any beta testers out there that can share their initial experience with us?

Thanks so much @aaronmda!

@dexter-k I feel that Steemit is more like a commercial platform put over a Reddit-esque framework. It has the ability to cover all interests, and provide media forms of all varieties. With the latest changes on Facebook/IG/Twitter, it is a move to spend more time on there for social validation, while Steemit is more economic. Said differently, those other platforms are strictly for consumption, where the economic benefits are for the platform owners or paid promotion.

Steemit gives equal opportunity to economic benefit, and allows for consumption and creators to all receive what they desire.

I agree @chefcryptoshark, I have been frustrated with facebook and instagram the past few years with their pay to play models. Steemit represents a whole new shift for me and it's super exciting.

Yes, would love to hear some thoughts from testers!!

Agreed @morkrock!

THIS IS SO AWESOME!!!

Thanks @thelord, appreciate your enthusiasm hahaha

Interesting, thanks.

Glad you liked it @hotandrandom

I want to know more about joining the beta too :)
I'm exited about how curation will benefit both the creator but also the one who links it :)

I'm curious to see how it plays out, there are a lot of questions that still need answering but I will keep watching as well!
