The introduceyourself dilemma 🤔

Hello fellow Steemians!

Today as I was browsing the posts and various topics I noticed that some 80% of the topics that I saw had "introduceyourself" in the tag.
I'm new, so correct me if I missed anything but isn't that tag reserved for... Well... Introducing yourself?
I mean there are photographs, memes, stories, beggars and much more tagged with "introduceyourself".

Is this some sinister tactic to get up-votes? Or do people just not understand the English language? 😆

    I think people do it because there are a fair number of bots and individuals in the introduceyourself section trying to help out the newcomers.

    So yes I think overall it is a ploy to get upvotes.

    There are all kinds of games played on here...not sure how many of them are really effective.

      I just wish people actually tried, rather than spam and cheat. But I suppose it is the way of the world... 😥

        Yes it is....although there is a good group on here that posts in people they identify as spammers warning people that is what they are believed to be.

        There are also those who come on here with huge followings so they have the ability to toss something up and it goes trending.

        For me, it is just plain over interaction, posting, and dedication. We will see where that takes me.
