It’s Been 10 Days Since My Last Post and Here is What I Have Learned (Hint: I Should Have Listened to @princewahaj)

in steemit •  7 years ago  (edited)

Moonport.jpg

I have a confession to make. For the last several weeks, I have been chatting regularly with @princewahaj and upvoting many of his posts. A number of his recent posts have provided advice for Steemit members on how to integrate Search Engine Optimization (SEO) in one’s own posts. These posts are very thorough and well written, yet quite readable to the average user (I should know, since my technical knowledge is quite poor).

His SEO post series offers immense value to Steemit authors and content creators, not to mention big value for Steemit overall. If more Steemians follow his advice, it will help us reach many more people. I hope you’ll check out his blog and read the whole series: https://steemit.com/@princewahaj

However, I will now confess that I have not yet taken the time yet to integrate his advice into my own posts. I did read each of his posts and marvel at his suggestions, but I had to bookmark them to save the actual SEO work for later.

Toldso.jpg

Why am I telling you this now?

I just returned from vacation, having taken one week off. In the week before I left, I made a few posts. The last one was posted 10 days ago, which means that I have had ZERO active posts on Steemit for the last three days. Nada. Nothing to suck the reward pool dry. (By the way, this post is “payment declined”, since I made more $$ than I deserved from my last few posts.)

But somehow, despite not posting, I have gained hundreds of new followers in the last week. So if I’ve had no active posts for the last three days, why has my blog gained more than 100 new followers in the last 48 hours alone?

There are multiple reasons. First, I have been voting and commenting during this time. 48 hours ago was when I returned home from vacation. I can’t stop voting and commenting whenever I’m online. There’s just so much good content these days. Second, my name was published by others as having sponsored a couple of community contests. So each of those activities might have earned me a few new followers.

Attention.jpg

But here is the main reason I continued gaining followers while having no active posts

It’s because when you search Google for “steem power”, one of my posts comes up as the # 1 result. Try Googling that term and you’ll see it.

This was an old post that I wrote last year, explaining the differences between STEEM, Steem Power, and Steem Dollars (SD as we sometimes called it back then, but now known as SBD for Steem Backed Dollars). The post is now outdated, since there have been several important coding changes since then. Perhaps most significantly, we no longer have the high inflation rate that we had back then. I have tried to explain this in my follow-up comments on that post, but much of the other information in the post is still quite relevant. I'm flattered that people still find it helpful in understanding Steem Power, etc.

That post paid out long ago, so I no longer make any royalties from it. That’s fine with me, since I was fortunate to have joined Steemit very early and was well rewarded for having written it. The post now has over 9,000 views.

Also, I receive several comments each day from people on that post, thanking me for providing helpful information. Presumably, there are many more people who read it and do not send me comments.

In other words, people continue to discover my blog at a steady stream each day via Google. And some of them are discovering Steem and Steemit for the first time, coming in that way.

Visitors.jpg

Would you like your own steady stream of visitors, joining Steemit and boosting visibility for your blog?

Let me humbly suggest that you read @princewahaj’s SEO posts and follow his advice: https://steemit.com/@princewahaj . I am setting aside some time to integrate those strategies into my posts also. Yes, I got lucky once without listening to advice, but if we all follow directions and do this the right way, then many of us can achieve similar results with other posts. Once we have a lot more people optimizing their posts, Steemit should feature much higher in search engine rankings for many different keywords. That will bring us more people and help the entire platform rise.

First thing first, I can't thank you enough because it's such an honor to be mentioned by you. I am surprised that you took your precious time in making this healthy post. It's a huge surprise for me!

Now as I have this motivation, I'll continue posting SEO Tutorial Series and include more powerful strategies so that we could all unite, and work on the growth of Steemit!

Trust me guys, SEO is powerful than Advertising. You pay a minimum of $0.30 per click to reach quality audience in Advertisement field (means if you want to reach 100,000 people, you'll have to invest $30,000) and that's for once only (means you'll have to pay again next month), but what if you'd know that you can reach to millions of people with your time investment only, month after month?

I mean, look at @donkeypong post. It's ranked #1 in Google SERP and attracting huge amount of visitors. Another example is @gavvet and third example is @liberosist .

Lets unite and work on the growth of Steemit!

I'll read the whole series. Thank you to both of you.

Thank you @teamsteem . Your time on my posts is much appreciated!

Thank you for the heads up, added @princewahaj to my stalkmarket.

I second that @teamsteem!

Thanks man!

I am a newbie so I am very interested in reading your series as I have lots to learn. thank you! 😊😊

I thank u for this SEO post I'm going to read up. Only a month into steemit and it is so deep and too much to learn, lol. It's overwhelming. However, It's all good as I love to learn.

Following @donkeypong's recommendations has not led me astray! I will for sure read your series and incorporate your SEO strategies. Followed you! Cheers.

There’s just so much good content these days.

Care to drop a few examples? I can scroll down the entire New feed and find nothing worth opening.

This is an example of one that is almost criminally under appreciated
https://steemit.com/science/@rieki/is-science-just-another-religion-21st-century-dogma-faith-in-science-and-the-cult-of-objectivity-1498976562-7605853

of course it is not easy to read and takes some time to digest. Maybe the author should split it up amongst a few posts.

"New" is pretty brutal these days, but there are plenty of gems in there for those willing to take the time.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Thanks for your post @donkeypong , good one indeed especially reminding us on the benefits of steem power and SEO. I think that your Steem power post is top in google because of its quality..as it s outdated, is it not possible to edit it?

AFAIK, the Steem blockchain does not allow editing of a post after the payout operation has been made.

Yes, tried it too.

All I have been able to do is add comments to clarify the information.

But can you write a new post with corrections? And in the old post, where people come, give a link to a new post in the comments? Or is it also impossible?

Capture.PNG

A classic post, too! I'll always remember this as one of my first memories of joining Steemit. It was trending the day I discovered Steem, and I joined the next day.

I've seen nearly 2,000 views on an old curation guide of mine from July too.

It would be nice to be able to see the view history for our posts (in a chart for example), but from my initial looking at the programming API, I'm not sure that's very easy to implement.

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Ok, great, so when I press "POST", I do it not only for the Steemit community, but for the whole internet to see.

My last article has made it to Nr. 1 on Google on title-related search. Damn.

I don't even know how it makes me feel. Am I excited? Yes. Do I feel more pressure? Yes. Yes squared. In all caps.

It is a kind of the moment "Hey, you wanted to be seen, now you're seen".

Btw does anyone know, this views counter, does it only show views from Steemit users or from everyone?

That confirms my belief in the usefulness , long-term, to keep making long form posts even if they don't pay out very well right now.
As a platform Steemit.com will keep climbing in Alexa rank and its contents will keep ranking higher and higher in Google's search results (unless they start messing with it on purpose)
Long form content will naturally contain keywords, and google's objectives are to present searchers with quality links, so time spent on page etc. will sooner or later weigh heavily in the search rankings.

I think it can't hurt to optimize your articles of course but to much obsession to game the algorithms is probably futile since they keep changing it to defeat "optimization" tricks that do not lead to quality content.
Its a very Darwinistic system.
Playing too many games with SEO will probably hurt you in the long run IF you do it at the expense of quality content
See:
https://hallanalysis.com/2017/05/26/seo-over-optimization/

My goals for Steemit is to find an audience of true fans, preferably a 1000 of them :)
Steemit.com I think is the first platform in a long time where I see that I have a better than average shot at achieving that, because currently the quality of comments is outstanding and that will automatically improve SEO value too. That is the real multiplier.

People chasing upvotes through memes pictures etc. are playing a very short term game. They are not building a portfolio that will pay off for them as you describe in your post.

I see the current reward distribution as an anomaly, things are starting out and are a bit crazy, I see fantastic posts not getting anything and trivial ones getting ridiculous rewards.
"Good on them" I say but long term they can't count on that continuing.

Steemit.com can become a hugely rewarding platform if distribution goes to consistently tens' of dollars per good post and a few hundred for outstanding posts.
If you have some predictability about your earnings, you can make this a full time job.
To get that predictability you'll need an engaged following that is actively commenting or spreading your content...
We're not there yet, but I am betting on that becoming a reality and will keep pluggin' away at my (maybe too) long form posts...

The long game...I like it.

Wow. Thanks for your informations. Well I think you deserve those $677 for those valuable informations.

And yes, I joined Steemit 12 days ago and commenting with relevant content on others posts gives you followers. Like 250 comments a day gives me around 50 followers.

I can't wait for my SP to be bigger.

Maybe I should not have declined payout. :) You're doing it the right way. Keep interacting, commenting, voting, and building good relationships with others. It takes time, but you'll get there.

I agree, thanks. Sometimes it gives me a bad mood because of few upvotes but I understand almost a half of my followers are from my facebook. And we will grow in time, it takes time but we will!

i think i have to start doing that and not only posting on steemit

Thanks for the advice! I'll be checking out @princewahaj's account and posts!

I see that this post says "Potential Payout $677.74 in 7 days Payout Declined"
What does "Payout Declined" mean? Thanks!

It means that the post is worth that much in payout value. If I had not declined payout, then I would have earned that much. However, I chose not to accept payment, so this post does not compete with others who are earning from the rewards pool.

Thanks for the reply! That's one more thing I learned about steemit :)

I guess its not too late for us then. :) Could this be the reason why for almost a year in steemit, I have not seen a major growth of my account? I will try to understand the series of @princewahaj and follow it. Hope, it will help me grow in the platform.

Hey @donkeypong - This post was extremely helpful. As a minnow of only 2 weeks on Steemit, I'm constantly downloading new information to help me create a presence along the way.

SEO seems like a no brainer as it's a staple to any good business wanting to create a name for itself and trying to sell product. As a Talent Acquisition professional (aka Recruiter), having my company's career site and job postings show up first when running a Google search is incredibly important when trying to get in front of job seekers.

Anyway, TL;DR version of what I just wrote is, this post is exciting and I'm looking forward to reading what @princewahaj has to say/offer on the topic.

I am a SPONGE and am trying to absorb as much information as possible, so this is good.

Thank you for taking the time to write this post...especially after your vacation.

-JackThaR1ppir

I concur...

Same thing, 6479 views, it was a couple of hundred a few months ago

https://steemit.com/steem/@gavvet/understand-steem-the-crypto-currency-and-dont-get-burned

comes up 3rd on google when searching for Steem concurrency

Thank you for sharing this! I checked some of his posts and they really are helpful!

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

I guess you deserve all these new followers flooding in with that useful guide including the splendid diagrams that came with it.
I'm pretty sure that specific thread lead me to follow you when I started pondering about the difference between SP, SBD and Steem.
I'll have a look at @princewahaj's posts since I have no idea what an SEO is and it's capabilities but it seems like something great.

I have been in steemit for one week. Im posting thoughts and facts as many as i can. It gives me inspiration and courage! Thank u so much @donkeypong

I'm new here and learning. I do have some seo skills and should be thinking of them more since Steemit is so high on Alexa ranking. Thank you for the tip and I will go check out those posts now. I think you are right that the search engine results are a huge help here over time.

Thanks @donkeypong for posting your experiences and importance of seo, upvotes and comments. I read all the content you have written. It's my pleasure to follow you . Followed you. I am a newbie here, can you please send me some steem power if possible i am really struggling to get through. I will remember you when i become rich. Thanks.

SEO — is very important.

For writing well optimized text, must first correctly set and choose keywords and tags. And for that we need those who will do the analysis and identify patterns. Because it is unlikely that a simple Author can do it.

You might want to create a community, and choose curators who understand this topic?

Delegate to them the Power of Voice, to assign a special tag and to motivate Authors to write such posts?

I've also noticed a substantial increase in followers and couldn't figure out why - I also suspect its from Google. Shame there is no way to track the traffic. That would be a nice feature.

Wow this is very interesting! gave me a great idea of promoting thing on steemit! I will read more about it

Yeah, I will definitely check him out. I am still forever learning on this website. :)

Amazing one friend, thanks for sharing with us these amazing tips and all you've observed within the past few days, your contribution to the community has been immense and unquantifiable, you are definitely a blessing to steemit

We all succeed together.

A big amen to that friend :)

Hey donkeypong,

Cheers for this and the heads up to @princeqahaj's SEO post series. I too have now added them to my reading list.

I come from a digital marketing background myself and when I write professionally, no matter what Google tries to say about user experience, its written for a robot to crawl and a user to convert. The internet is full of posts written to please Google and now I'm involved in the industry, I cant not read pages in a manner that Google would which takes away the human element.

While I've been on Steemit however, I feel like the fact that SEO overoptimisation hasn't taken hold is highly refreshing. By being fully human again in writing as it's for this platform only, I feel the posts are real and as a result contain real value. Not just a marketing trick for a 3rd party robot to crawl.

Do either of you guys see any potential issues around Steemit content becoming bland and fake professional just like everywhere else if SEO for Google becomes a mainstream priority here?

Interested in your thoughts.

That's great point. I think if the quality of content is sacrificed in order to please the SEO gods, that probably would not be perceived very well by the community. Our system of rewards is imperfect and the voting behavior is even less perfect, but I still believe this community would not vote excessively on something that's poor quality content.

Please join Steemit.chat and contact me there. I'd love to continue the discussion.

'Real life' is getting in the way of steemit chat for now, but I've given you a follow and will keep in touch!

I will have to check out his post. I know how important SEO is but I've never truly tried to implement it into anything that I have written yet. Which doesn't make any sense on my behalf!

Thank you for helping me find a good author to follow!

SEO in posts would not have occurred to me either, but it works.

I do not know if SEO is feasible to do with our posts since we do not earn anymore after 7 days @donkeypong unless you want to make the article seen by many for some reason.

If you're bringing in people to your blog and to Steemit, then that's still very worthwhile. But I would love to see royalties (even at a much smaller rate) enabled for longer term content, such as Wikipedia-type material.

Yes you're right, our steem blog can help our other blogs and or websites
Thank you.

As a newbie to steem and only been a member little more than a week, i am learning my selves with lot of trial and error. Thanks for sharing this tips and i will definitely read @princewahaj57 suggestions and will improve my posting in the coming days. Thanks for making a great social community with valuable content. Way to go!
@athavan

this is so very good advice. i wish i know more about SEO but I will learn

Me too. I think his posts provide a very good lesson for us.

Thank you @donkeypong, this is very, very useful for me as a beginner in steemit community, because I prefer new things in learning to make something to be liked by many people, then the best friend you suggest is very good for my progress, thanks.

Do you think that older posts that still generate views should still earn in some way, or do you think that the compensation of possible followers is enough?

I'm open to different perspectives on that, but I think that some longer term content (such as Wikipedia type material) should be able to draw ongoing royalties when there are additional votes after the first 7 days. I can see how the value might be much less than for timely content, but it still would be nice to be able to incentivize longer term types of content.

I have been thinking about that... earning royalties for the individual that would be great, but for the platform it would be terrible. (As I understand the reward mechanism)
If the reward pool is going to be divided up amongst ever more content (Last 7 days + old content) the fraction of rewards for new authors would probably diminish next to nothing over time.
That kills all incentives to add new content (why would you bother if you are already earning tons from "royalties" tempting to sit back and relax right ?)
As a result the inherent value of steemit stops growing and with it the perception that it is valuable.
New authors would see ever diminishing returns and there would come a point where the hype "get paid to post" in practice stops being true.
It is still early days, we are on a great trajectory, 5% a week will get us to over 50 MILLION users in LESS than 1000 days (because math)
Anything that even shaves growth in the slightest can mean the difference of becoming the next Facebook or turning into Geocities or intellectconnect.com (who? right...! )

Growth hasn't even started yet in earnest. It should accelerate soon. Regarding royalties for longer term content, perhaps another Steem-powered site or one run on a side chain (eventually) could focus on that.

don't be fooled the last few months has been consistently over 5% a WEEK. That's all it takes ! Check out the old link here (ironically way over 7 days hehe https://steemit.com/steem/@the-traveller/why-you-still-are-massively-underestimating-steemit-com-exponential-functions-you-probably-don-t-really-understand-them)

  ·  7 years ago (edited)

Yes, there is basically no incentive to create evergreen content beyond the first payout. This is a difficult thing, especially for certain types of works which will only net views over time. If my work ends up with thousands of views over its life but only a few in the initial seven days, it seems that some pay inequity exists. I still added value to the system, just more slowly (or perhaps with less hashpower but over an extended period of time).

SEO is one of the most important things ever, especially on social media. That's why my YouTube channel is still getting views on some really old videos that seem outdated, yeah? People type in something and the first and second results always get the results. Nobody scrolls to the 4th page looking for something unless it's a 13 year old who just discovered porn ;p

Great article. I also take care of SEO but not here on steemit. But now onwards I am gonna try it seriously.

9000 views, that's awesome!!! I often find myself wondering if there is a better way to get the word out on steemit that I'm missing somehow, posts like this one are truly invaluable.
I will definitely be reading @princewahaj's posts, anything to take steemit to the moon! One of these days publishers, record producers, etc. are going to show up here and realize this is the place to find the talent they've been looking for ;)

Once the development work is done, we will have no shortage of people coming on here. Anything you can do to help get the word out is much appreciated. ;)

Thank you. Excellent advice as usual. In my previous life SEO was a given. I can't believe I didn't make the connection here. Duh! Thanks @donkeypong!

Thank you for sharing what you have learned. Being new to the platform I'm trying to soak up as much knowledge as possible! Thank you for directing me to @princewahaj. I will most definitely be checking out that series!

This sort of thing doesn't work for someone like me. You've seen a few examples of what I do. For the most part, my blog is a show about nothing, like an episode of Seinfeld.

I do have my own set of tricks though. My views trickle in over time on quite a few of my older posts.

This one has 728 views. 579 views here and 667 on this one. Just a few examples. There are more getting passed around. Without a large following in place, it's incredibly difficult to get that sort of subject matter moving outside of Steemit, yet I'm able to.

That's great. If you'd like to post about your tricks, I'll save an upvote for you. :)

I took a stab at explaining awhile back. Now that I have better results to back me up, maybe I'll try it again.

I understand the need for SEO and completely agree that it is essential for certain types of post. But I am not quite sure how I would fit it in with my style of writing. Maybe it is something that I just need to keep in the back of my mind when I am writing more factual/informative pieces.

Yes, probably so. I'm sure it works better for some content than for others.

Wow! Thanks for posting this information about Steem Power and SEO :) Evtremely helpful... And @princewahaj finally I'm introduced to you.. Looking forward to some quality stuff from you in future :) Regards and Best wishes!

Just started to join steemit with my girls. Stumbled across this article and found it most helpful for beginners including the link to the source. Thank you!

Hi Tom @donkeypong. This isn't to do with the post, I just wanted to say, I've been looking on SteeM.V.P and it says you are one of my top upvoters. So thank you. I spend a lot of time of my videos (5 hours on my last post) and it really makes it worth it when people like you find my videos. So cheers mate, tis much appreciated.

Arthur

Great post! I really look forward to reading that SEO series and hope to learn more from the words of @princewahaj

Thanks for sharing. Great information.

Awesome im definitely checking out @princewahaj post. I've only been on Steemit for a bit over a month & having a blast! Post like this give me so much inspiration! Thank you @donkeypong 😊

I am kinda new to all of this.. but will def check it out... btw @donkeypong and
@princewahaj you have a new follower!

I AM LOW ON POWER! But please take my donation for all the posts Imma be reading now!

CHEERS!

Got a lot from this, thanks for sharing dude :D

Thanks so much for this post. The idea of integrating SEO into each post made me think of how much the Steemit platform will change and improve blogging itself. Wherever there is reward and competition, the quality of the product will improve. I think we will continue to see bloggers up their game and innovate as Steemit develops.

I will read @princewahaj's posts. Thanks for sharing this great information. Steemit is a rocket that is waiting to be launched :)

Thanks for sharing your insight and pointing us towards the advice offered by @princewahaj. I am totally new to this whole social media scene and would never have understood the importance of SEO integration.
It is indeed amazing that you continue to gain followers even without active blogs on Steemit for over 3 days. Your analysis shows us why. Thanks for sharing.

I am continuing to focus on quality blogs and good interaction through meaningful commenting and upvoting. Hope to follow in your footsteps.

I have posted a blog about an Orange Moon today and Sarus Cranes yesterday. Please take a look if interested. I would love to get your comments. Thanks

That's pretty nice! And everybody knows that you are trending and people like us learn many things from you.
Keep steeming keep loving us.
God bless you @donkeypong

I see you don't want the money but you could've used it to power up and vote other posts up. Declining Payouts are not contributing to Steem.

I also made an article about putting in the right keywords when selling stuff on your affilate website, altough it got little reach I am sure you would like it:
https://steemit.com/howto/@alex-nj/how-to-make-usdusdusd-with-amazon-affiliate-chapter-2-keyword-research-part-1

I ve just now googled and found your post.Read it, no wonder its among the top, its well written, the quality makes it supreme and most amazingly for me, it was written in a time when i might not have even heard the term steemit or cryptocurrencies at least once, haha.

meep

I love it your post

Great post and thank you! I will certainly be checking out @princewahaj. Hope you enjoyed your vacation!

Thanks for the great advice! I will look into everything you mentioned - I am a newbie so thanks again :)

Very good information for newbies like us to gain more audience for our post. Hopefully one fine day I can gain more followers :D .
It's good to be back here again.been here 2 weeks now ,and really make something to write. Hopefully I can catch up with this trend. Once again thanks !

Welcome back from your holiday @donkeypong
Will try to follow @princewahaj tips, but can't promise it will work when I implement them. Two left hands regarding this technical stuff lol

Have not heard from you for a long time @donkeypong
Welcome back from holiday. Surely you will have a lot of posts we've been waiting for.

SALAM KOMUNITAS STEEMIT INDONESIA

Thanks fo sharing that, this is only my second week and it's definitely addictive. I didn't have much experience with cryptocurrencies and I didn't really care for more traditional social media platforms. But this seems different, everyone just seems so helpful.
I feel very fortunate to be involved in this community at this early stage. Remember this is just the beginning, the future potential of this platform is unbelievable,it could be a turning point in time. Where future generations will look back to it,as a time when then the earth and its people changed for the better. The future is coming.

@donkeypong , a thousand words repply collected in two:
Thank you

With the rate Steemit is climbing the Google rankings, I don't know if we need SEO. I'll check him out though for my @coolenglish account. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks for suggesting where we can look to improve seo of our posts.

This effect is very powerful with evergreen contents.

In the future, when I have a good amount of SP I intend to work hard on it.

Thanks for the great work. Upvote and resteem :)

Interesting. Taking SEO into account would make a big difference. When using the search feature in Steemit, it does a Google search as well! Would be very beneficial to be the top ranked result 👍🏼

Thank you. I will read @princewahaj , for sure.

SEOs provide interesting ways to get noticed on the internet. Great post!

I gonna read her

Thanks so much for this post.

I hadn't even considered SEO for Steemit.

But now you've led me into @princewahaj 's labyrinth of posts.

There goes the next few days of my time.

Like you, I also get a lot of comments on old posts. Mostly FAQ-related. So much of the information in those posts is horribly outdated. I wish I could edit them to direct people to the correct information.

I haven't yet read that post series on SEO, but I'll have to do that. A big factor in Steemit's Google ranking comes from the number of quality sites linking to Steemit. If we can write articles that get picked up by popular websites, that will go along way to improve our search ranking.

Right now, 236 sites are linking in with these being the top ones:

I will make sure to check the guy then. It seems quite promising to SEO one's posts. Never thought it would have such an impact.

Thank you for sharing this insight SEO would be a great help for our posts.

Hah. Just googled steem power and realized that post was what got me to follow you in the first place a while back, lol. So it does work.

very informative post. I'm humbled by your attitude

I feel guilty here :) following your advice, I should start commenting more...

Thank you for sharing this.. I have been trying to get more people discover my posts, especially I would like to be here for a long time ,consistently with good contents especially on travel and photography. this is so helpful.. I am gonna check those out. :)

Oh I'm looking forward to this, guys!
Steemit has to be covered in the media more and more - in whatever way! Sounds like you found a fantastic partner for this. Good luck! I'm looking forward to your updates!
AWESOME POSTT
FOLLOWD ,UPVOTED A RESTEEMED
WISH U UPVOTE THIS COMMENT

@donkeypong you are a role model for many! For sure i will be following your advise which i am sure will be beneficial for me! Thanks for the share
@progressivechef

Thank you for letting us know. :)

Thanks for the suggestion. I will look at his channel. SEO can probably help us all

Many thanks for sharing this information and @princewahaj’s blog page. SEO is a weak area for me, so I have a lot to learn, and am willing to learn. So the good prince will probably have a new follower in just a moment.

I have really only treated my Steemit page as a hobby of sorts, but it really should be (and ultimately is) much more than that. It's page where I can develop my author/writing skills, and hopefully bring more views over time.

Looking forward to developing this idea and hopefully a new skill :)

SEO is great thanks man @donkeypong

@valderrama , you should read this post and check out @princewahaj too.
Good tips to get a good SEO .

Thanks @donkeypong and @princewahaj for sharing

Of course applying proper SEO techniques is a best practice. It will most definitely help drive content to where you want people to get. Google itself does a lot for you without you even knowing it. Changing a few things can improve numbers dramatically.

@princewahaj has written some excellent articles. @donkeypong does so as well.

Thanks for sharing @thetimminator

Very interesting post. Thx for sharing your experince.
Much greetings from Germany
The Bro

Well researched and generous credit given! Always good to get a nice pointer from you @donkeypong.

Very informational

Thank you so much for sharing @donkeypong. Will follow @princewahaj's posts and integrate SEO on my next DIY post, which is gonna be of immense value to the biking community in my country. I hope it helps them as well as helps gain members on steemit. Cheers! :D

It's been a long week man, welcome back :d
I agree about SEO, because i worked in this sphere and had to know it as front-end developer.

A great publication. Well done. Greetings. Happy day. Please support me

It seems SEO optimization is over rated especially if you are "fake news". Google will put your website on page 10 of the results.

Thanks for the suggestion, going to check out the SEO posts myself.

Minnows like me who is not tech savvy, really do appreciate your post about Steem power. I searched it up on google (around a week ago) and i even haven't even signed up here yet. My curiosity sparked when i saw Steemit in facebook (much love for @jerrybanfield about for the steemit videos. ^_^).

Still those technical jargons burns up most of my brain cells here, i was like "what the?!?" when i learned about Steem, Steem Power, Steem Dollars. Then i was like "holy shmoly?!?" as i encountered the words minnow, dolphin, and whale when my steemit account was approved. Im just so thankful that there are lots of useful material here that can definitely guide newbies even to the advanced users here.

As of today, i have posted some content mostly about my everyday life and things that i enjoy. I love the fact that you can freely express yourself and share a slice of your life to other people. The upvote rewards are just a nifty bonus for the time and effort you are allotting here in Steemit. (i earned a few cents for my posts, but i'm happy with that as long they read it.. :D)

I will continue interacting, building good relationships and connections to people here. When i have time, i always do my best to comment on posts that in my opinion, seems to be interesting, informative and entertaining. It is such a great feeling when someone comments or replies back on your posts, come to think that they are at the opposite side of the globe. It is very uplifting and encouraging and gives you a much needed boost to share more of your life, create good content, and connect more deeper to other people. (ง^ᗜ^)ง

Well i think that's about it at the moment. Im happy to be a part of this wonderful and lovely Steemit community. But like what i always say, this is not just a community, this is family.

(Much love from the Philippines!)
KEEP ON STEAMIN'!!!

Welcome back @donkeypong - diving into your advise here

Thank you to both for this. I will definitely do this. Thank you once again !

You're right. The fact is that it's not only the point in sharing good content and making money through it, it's also to get in contact with many talented and smart people. In my opinion we haven't reached (and hopefully we will never) the niveau of social media sites like Facebook tough it was a great invention. People on steemit up vote for great content and helpful tutorials. These kind of posts get a lot of money but when I look at the nsfw posts who are made, people aren't interested in tittie pictures at all - and that's why I won't quit spending my time on steemit)))

Congratulations @donkeypong!
Your post was mentioned in my hit parade in the following categories:

  • Comments - Ranked 9 with 125 comments
  • Pending payout - Ranked 10 with $ 690,61

Thanks for information donkeypong !!

Thank you for recommending something the average user could understand (me by the way) I'm heading over there now. Hope you enjoyed your vacation!

SEO is good for Steemit reaching out to people via Search Engines. But does it have an incentive for Steemians? What happens when 1000 people view my post but are not on Steemit? What would those views bring me?

I am a blogger and well versed with SEO now. I did not think of doing the SEO yet but because of the blogging background, SEO is automatically done when I write. SEO revolves around keyword and when it its spread nicely across the blog post, SEO is all good.

However, I would still want that the number of views translate into earning or reputation; something.

oh, you better change that image mate... a quality post and you should definitely get paid for it @donkeypong
