This spring, in March, we visited Valencia for the first time ever. We had an amazing time, although half of that trip happened during Fallas, a very noisy, albeit truly spectacular event. During our stay there we also met with a fellow Steemian, @for91days, with whom we "clicked" instantly.

6 months later, here we are again, this time for starting a new life here, not as tourists, but as full time citizens. So, once we settled, we decided to meet again with @for91days and see if there are other Steemians around. Luckily, we found out that in the Valencia region there is also @dresden, who is very active in the Steem Spanish community, so we started to plan a meeting.

This meeting happened today and little did we know that it will evolve into a full featured Steemit meetup.

But I'm getting ahead of myself.

The day started with a gathering point in Plaza de Tossal, which happened to be just 50 meters from where we stayed during our first visit. On our way there we had quite a few memories. Once there, we met @for91days and then a few minutes later @dresden arrived too, surprise, with another fellow Steemian, @dragonflyarrow. So now we were 5 full blown Steemians in the group: @raluca, @for91days, @dresden, @dragonflyarrow and me.

We then went to a terrace where we had a short drink, in the anticipation of the lunch. It was a bit cold outside, so when we decided to move to a new place, which had potentially an inside area, I was quite happy, I confess. @for91days proposed a nice place called la La Lluna, which served vegetarian and gluten free dishes as well. After a short stroll in El Carmen, we arrived and found a table inside. Oh, the joy.

From that point on, the meeting was all about good wine, good food and good stories. I heard a lot of stuff about SteemFest 3 (@teodora, we were talking also about you, so if you read this: Hi, and give us a sign if you come to Valencia). We shared information about the latest projects in the crypto world, from Trybe to Lumeos, and from JSECoin to Facebook LaunchPad. And then some in between.

We all agreed that Steemit is kinda loosing its initial stamina, but it does this in a non-toxic way. Even if the token will lose its value completely, we still have the people, and the friendships that we made because of Steemit.

It was a different vibe from the initial Steemit meetups, in which there was a lot of enthusiasm, but also a lot of overinflated expectations. Kind of like the vibe that you get now on EOS meetups or hackathons, where everybody is so hyped up, but they don't know exactly why they are hyped up.

This Steemit meetup had more of a "veteran-like" vibe, like soldiers sharing stories and proudly showing up their scars. Everybody at that table was active on the platform when STEEM was traded at $7 and everybody is still active when STEEM is at $0.37, or almost 20x less.

We were the ones who fought many battles and we were now prepared for whatever comes next.

Add to this that the food was absolutely fabulous, the wine spectacular and the restaurant atmosphere cosy and supportive.

All in all, I had no idea when 5 hours passed.
