What can help you to "sell" your post???

in steemit •  7 years ago

This list was made from my own experience and I apologize for using word "sell" in this text.

Maybe it isn't the best choice but if you think about it, there are more kinds of rewards that you can get on Steemit, not just money. Well, token reward is definitely the first and the most important reward on Steemit, but you can be very happy if you get a large number of upvotes of the active users without large money reward. When you get some new followers thanks to your latest post, I also consider that a reward. Good feedback on the comments of your post is also very nice reward. The number of views also, that means that you attracted somebody's attention. It's not all about the money and all these rewards are welcome to all of us. Or they should be.

So when I say "what can help you to SELL your post, it doesn't matter what kind of reward you get. Is it about the money, upvotes, views, followers or feedback, it really doesn't matter because all of these are your REWARDS.

So what can help you to sell your post?

Let's list it , from most important factor to less important factors.

1. Your username - This is the most important "seller" of your post! If you're already "famous" on Steemit, your followers will not hesitate to upvote whatever you write. Well respected users have dolphins and whales who support them all the time. If you have one of those names, people won't even open your post, they will upvote it immediately. Just compare the number of views and upvotes.

2. Shocking/interesting title - All users would rather open and read the post with title "How I survived a firestorm" or "I earned 10 000$ while I was sleeping" than "My regular morning" and "Best ice cream in my city".

3. Outstanding front photo - You can have your own logo to be recognized by it and always choose your best photo as the first one. People are curious, they will open your post to see what happens inside.

4. Amount of reward that already was on your post - This is not best way to attract the attention of others but IT WORKS! When users scroll down their FEED or under some particular tag, and if they see that you are already rewarded in a very short time, they will open your post to see what is all about.

5. Resteem - If someone important resteems you, that means a lot to your post. But from my own experience, it doesn't help so much, maybe you can get few extra upvotes, but again, you should have interesting title and awesome front image.

6. Quality of your post - Sadly but this one should be the first on this list. No matter how good is your post, if you don't have at least two of upper factors, you will not be upvoted, viewed, followed or even noticed!

Thank you!

Nailed it. I consider all the items on the list to be post 'sellers'.

Number two and three have elements of 'click-bait' attached - but a shocking title or photo, relevant to your post is perfectly acceptable.

+1 for the photo too ;)

Lol!;) thank you!

another way is to start your own circle jerk like we have seen on steem (really needs a bit of SP this one)..LOL

Thank you very much

Hi, this was a good post. I love reading it. Thanks.

Regard from Indonesia.

Well.. you pretty much nailed it :)

Thanks

I must admit that the little experience I have by far led me to more or less the same conclusion but you made it neat and clear. The problem is that no matter how good some post might be, the title and the thumbnail picture can be so ordinary and unnoticeable and then simply skipped.
Absolutely essential is the quality without any doubt.

Exactly
