[Celebrity or Large Audience People Moving to Steemit]: I am on steemit, now what?

in steemit •  7 years ago  (edited)

There are celebrities and people that already have large audiences outside of steemit that are beginning to transition to steemit.

This post is intended as some tips for them. They are free to take them, or leave them. Steemit is voluntary.

You likely will do well and attract some attention on Steemit without following any of these tips. These tips though I believe can improve your experience, and reception on steemit. Your earnings will increase and you'll make steemit and other steem blockchain apps a much better place.

  1. Don't do fire and forget, air drop posts. By this I mean don't post videos/articles and then completely ignore engagement in the comment section of your post. Even if you only engage a small amount that is better than not engaging at all.
  2. You need not spend a lot of time at it, but you should occasionally look at other posts to up vote if you like them and perhaps engage with other content creators. This will increase the attention to you and it helps feed the over all steem blockchain.
  3. You can do ten votes at 100% power per 24 hour period. While you don't have to use them, when you use them to support people you are interested in you strengthen and improve the chances of more of that content being present within the steem ecosystem.

If you are new and haven't done an #introduceyourself post then that is something you should do. Include images if you can.

Steem posts support markdown style posting. They also support a limited set of html such as the following tags:
center
b
em
ol
ul
li
table
tr
td
a href
img src
h1
h2
h3

Now if you don't know what those tags mean that is okay simply stick to markdown and you'll be fine. If you do know html though you might find it handy to know that you can use things like that.

And if all else fails I did start a colab for those coming in from YT to get the first week in a foreign country explained to them with links to many if they wish to do more than the air drop...

@richq11 and I spoke to Dr. Jerome Corsi on the phone today and I setup an account for him. Hopefully he'll become pretty active on here soon.

Awesome!

I'm hoping Steemit reaches critical mass this year. Love this platform. Thanks for posting!

Thanks for your tips for using steemit and I have not understood to using markdown style he..he..he

When your are writing a post right above the preview in the upper right side there is a link that says "Markdown Styling Gude". Click that to learn how to use markdown.

I always wondered how people get the formatted text in their posts... Now I know. I also missed the Markdown Styling Guide. It's much appreciated for sharing that.

I'm a bit of a nerd and decided about 8 years ago to study HTML and CSS over my 2 week Christmas break. I studied a book called Head First HTML. It was interesting and I got through all of it and by the end realized there are easier ways then actually coding your own website. Looks like I might need to dust off the guide and my book:)

My @newsagg posts are essentially several tables that I setup with HTML, IMG SRC tags, and some a HREFs.

That is probably my most formatted post I've made here on steemit.

don't forget Busy
it doesn't require markdown I don't think
it's pretty much what you see is what you get.

Yeah it has a WYSIWYG Editor doesn't it?

I don't use busy to post, but I do use it to view from time to time.

I figured I might do a few bite sized posts like this as time progresses. Feel free to join in yourself if you want.

but I'm shy and bashful.

Haha - now that is funny! I figured out in a week you are anything but shy or bashful. I enjoy your perspective, you remind me of my oldest brother. Yes that’s a good thing in case you were wondering.

thanks (I think)

You've got some good points and I think they are important for every new user on steemit, people should adapt to the culture of the platform they move to.

I am fine with them doing what they want. Yet if they want to succeed and grow on steemit as fast as they can I think these points will help them.

I've seen celebrities that don't do nearly as well on steemit as they could, and I think that is primarily because they just post videos or articles, and they don't engage in comments. They don't interact on other people's posts. They don't act much like a community member and instead act more like a door to door salesman.

You said to much logical by your analysis.
Among these "3" is the best....
I think it must be help us to use our steem power.
Thank you to remember this.

These efforts are the things that will be the success of steemit, whatever your bias or interest we should support the big youtubers and bloggers and the people working to bring them to steemit.com

I strongly believe steemit can replace facebook and celebrity accounts will be switching to Steemit in future. I have over 1000 contacts on Facebook and I barely use it now.

I see steemit growing in the future too but not that sure that it will take over the social media. Have you checked out ong.social and their ong coin?

Steemians! Have faith and keep in blogging and Steem up. There is light at the end of the tunnel

I am on this Platform from last couple of days, felling very much happy with the other steemit members.
They are very co-operative, specially the senior members are wonderfully helpful... 😎 😎 😎

Thanks Steemit

you always have the best content
