Steem is Cryptocurrency
Steem / SteemPower is an Asset
These are purchased and sold in our Internal Market as well as on the Exchange
Anyone can buy it
There is no moral obligation when you have it to build a "website"
There is a request to rent, buy, and bid on Steem
- May increase the value to Steem for building content sites

SteemIt is the platform used to distribute Steem
One use for Steem is to hold Steem Power that gives you influence in the new Steem distribution
Holding SteemPower gives you the right to choose, sell, rent, rent voting power
Bidding Bots are just the Internal Market to sell voting power.
It's up to the end-user SteemIt to curate the content

I do not think you can build a major website based on expecting people to do themselves in a certain way. We can discuss it from now until the end of time, but buying a sound is a viable business with a huge demand that will happen in or outside the "Chain". If a product is sold anyone has the right to buy it, not just those deemed worthy.
My opinion
Trending Pages:
I LOVE the idea that anyone can invest in SBD or Steem and get their article visibility right up to the trending page. I do not think the trendy page is about content and I find it more diverse and interesting now. When I do not like something that makes it a trending page, I mark it and continue my activities. Communities can choose to tag you from the Trending page, but they can not stop you from there. Is not that Freedom?
Distribution:
Whether you like it or not how Steem is distributed, it is to get new hands and more. I think it was a victory in the Mid to Long-Term. With the distribution I mean Steem landed in the hands of more people, some in large numbers and some in smaller numbers. (It has never been my goal to stop other people from earning large sums of money.)
Investors can buy Steem only to use it for business reasons, such as selling Voting Power
Bot keeps Steem powered
They allow others to get Steem
Some to be sold and some to be held and turned on
Voting Power is a Product
If something is worth selling, why do not I buy it? If the Pope has some voting power that they do not want to use today, and I am looking for more voting power, it seems reasonable for me to buy it.
Finally:
In short, in my opinion SteemIt, Inc. (known as STINC) works to build blockchain instead of managing SteemIt. Some people call SteemIt as Firehose, a view I have decided to adopt. I had a period of disappointment when I accepted this, but that's what happened. We now have others build other platforms in Steem Blockchain that may be better managed and include better features, moderation, etc.
Personally, I am willing to let the experiment unfold and continue to practice and understand the challenges of a decentralized economy and society. I'm not saying you have to accept my point of view, but at least consider it.
May be useful for steemans wherever they may be.
