First-Hand Experience with Cashing out Steemit in Nigeria

So. I finally cashed out on Steemit today. Super-exciting!

I know, I know, I should be more focused on the technology and the exciting potential of such a revolutionary and counter-intuitive social media platform (and I am! I really am!) but man oh man, do I need the money. I am a medical student in Nigeria who has like four-to-five more years that aren't going to pay for themselves. Then there's my desire to travel the world while I'm still remotely young and unmarried enough to do so. Steemit is my path to making that happen sooooo ... yeah, money isn't everything but it sure as hell matters. It may not be sufficient but it is necessary.

Anyway! That aside, the point is that Steemit is legit, it pays and I myself have been paid.

It's really simple. Here's How.

What You Need (As A Nigerian Cashing Out):

1. a Steemit membership at least 7 days old
2. Steemit earnings above 1 SBD.
3. a Luno bitcoin wallet (if you want to easily cash out to naira)
4. a Genex Membership (if you want to cash out fast and your earnings are up to 0.015 BTC)*

STEPS
Just open Blocktrades.us. Click on Send. Scroll down and choose Steem (or as it was in my case, Steem Dollars.) Under Receive, choose your preferred crypto (in this case, Bitcoin.)

Paste your own bitcoin wallet address in the space given. Highlight and copy the memo.

Now head over to your Steemit Wallet page.

Weeeeee! It's not a lot but it's mine! :D

Next up, click on your SBD. On the drop down menu, click Transfer.

Paste your memo as instructed above. Destination address is simply "blocktrades."

Submit ...

... wait for the confirmations ...

... And you're done!

Can't wait till next week when hopefully the numbers will be bigger. Even if they aren't, I'm in this for the long haul but ... yeah, hopefully those numbers will be bigger. Steemit Rocks, woohoo!!!!
