Why I believe that Steem soon will be at 14.34$ at least !!! Take a look at this historical Screenshot from 13th July 2016:
Steemit was at his all time high, at 4.93$ which is 0.00717 BTC. Bitcoin on the other hand was worth at that time "only" 662$, which is 3 times less then today, last night Bitcoin hit the 2000$.
So Steem's all time high was at 0.00717 BTC which is now 14.34$ !
Plus there is a Huge difference between Steem in July 2016 and now.... The Community is way bigger, Steemit is so much more advanced, and many reasons more. That's why I powering up every Day !!!

I wish that people could understand what would happen to the curation- and post reward when the price goes up. Can you try to explain it in one of your post?
It is not only the STEEM you have that increase in value, but when you vote and post you earn more $ value!
Pensonally I think that people who sell STEEM now must be crazy or do not understand what is happening.

Great article and point because across most of the bench mark cryptocurrencies have all seen huge gains and only are proving to raise in the coming months and years. I think like you said to keep powering up because the great use you have for Steem to gain more from interaction and publication is going to give investors in it today the biggest benifit of all just because you can gain with more than just purchase but earned credit for interaction.

You need to consult total supply to your analyst. Steem supply is now 233M which is ~2.84 times more than 82M vs BTC supply is about 10% bigger. So target price would be 14.34 / 2.84 = $5.04 which is also good price :) We can have also snow ball effect which may push price.

but then when you factor in the size in steem userbase back then against now. Surely there is a network effect that pushes the value of Steem because of how much more widely used Steem is now?

I do think that Steem will hit 14.34 dollars. But Bitcoin might come down a bit too, it seems that it's gone up way too much these past few weeks. It might stop rallying when another disaster (exchange hack or something) happens. And Steem does not have any such issues luckily :)

I see Bitcoin at 3500 - 4000 by the end of the year, it goes more and more mainstream, a lot of people buy BTC because they don't wanna miss out. Plus in Japan Bitcoin is now legal tender. Look at this post from @gavvet :
