7 day payout means users votes diluted by 7

I was thinking about why I don't like the 7 day change. It's because it's because my 100 percent slider is now stuck at 14%. This post I resteemed discusses some of the pressing issues. Below I discuss the fix.

I think the big issue is that 7 day pays out means my vote power is divided by 7.

Every post I vote on competes with post I vote on the next day.

To fix this I think we need to reduce 100percent votes to 40/7 so that I will have the same influence that I had before.

Otherwise it's like my slider is stuck on 14%. I like it at 100!

##Hopefully next change will reduce full voting power votes per day.

my understanding is that you can still upvote 40 times a day at 100% so why is your vote diluted? You just have to wait 7 days to get the payout and curation rewards.

Each payout period includes 280 votes 40x7. So this makes it easier for high steem power voters to catch more post over theirs 7 day life. Because of the crappy reward curve, there more powerful votes are magnified. Imagine that 1000 post are made a day. A whale can vote on 280 of them over a week by voting 40 each day. If you aren't in he 280 you'll get little. Before whales could only vote on 40 meaning the others had to build audience from smaller sp voters. I am using the term whale but this applies to all the top steem holders. Dolphins included. Another way of thinking about it is the old rewards a good post might have gotten 5 dolphins in a day but now the best post will likely have 45 dolphins because they have 7 days to find it. I believe you will have more post with multiple dolphins whereas the old way you had lots of post with 1 or 2 dolphins.

Anything that concentrates rewards is bad imo. Thousand of $1-2 rewards are way better than $50 rewards. Because it will draw more users and more attention.

I totally agree with the thousands of $1-2 rewards are better than the $50.
I guess we will have to see how it plays out. I'm not sure I can say I am seeing the rewards trending back to how they were for me anyways.

the larger SP holders don't vote with 100% power so they are able to vote way more than 40 times each day. Your assumptions are incorrect . From your join date, you have been around long enough you should know that.

you need to focus more on building community and let the rewards follow than complaining.

That was an illustration. It doesn't matter what percent they use, the longer window allows for more clustering of votes. That's the problems.

well, the coming weeks will show if your premise is right or not .... logic is that you're wrong but you'll need to see that yourself. Or, it will defy logic and you might happen to be right.

Well see😊

Agree. Can't wait to see the data crunches look at concentration of rewards again over the next two weeks.
