I think the first tag is the more important one. It is the one that list your post in a specific section in steemit with related posts.
If you want you can invest in steem power (that helps you a lot) and engage with people and posts to get followers and upvotes/resteems.
The more quality you provide the better is for you and the whole community.

Yep--I think that's right about tags. The first tag is the most important and puts it in that 'catergory' of posts.
Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:
Submit
