Turns out that I am way more of a perfectionist than I realized. Hammering out that first draft is kinda rough. It shouldn't be though. I should be able to sketch out the first draft from the ideas I have in my mind and then tease out the weak spots when I read it over again. It's an iterative process, both like and unlike sculpting. But if I treat this typepad as a permanent mass of rock that bears every scratch for eternity then I am doing myself a disservice.
