I was recently asked that question.

The best answer i have is in two parts.

Background...sturgeons law

whether you intend for it to be..whether you want it to be...or NOT! It just is.
The solution to the pollution is to STEEM ON!

just keep on keeping on.
it'll take MONTHS...
to determine what is pollution and what is the solution.
Each person is different...you have to figure it out for yourself.

your success curve is will look something like this.

for a long, long time...months and months.
you won't think that you have accomplished anything.
but..the more you make..the more what you make makes FOR you
then..suddenly...critical mass has been achieved..
and suddenly
you've past the tipping point.

you're a dolphin

don't let anyone fool you.
it's NOT easy.
now set your hiney in the chair in front of the computer.

I have been on steem two weeks and I’m not rich yet, who’d of thunk it. Seriously what I like about this platform is free speech is free speech here. You can connect with like minded people if you dig around a little. At this point I’m more like plankton than anything else, but I will keep plugging away. Money ain’t for nothing.

You're right about the work.

From what i have learnt so far,the key to making it on steemit is hard work and perseverance at the same time enjoying yourself making friends

I just wonder, seeing your post... How many Steem (or USD if you like it this way) to be considered a decent dolphin?

Your milage may vary. I've heard that 5K Sp is the minimium for a dolphin...500K is the minimium for a whale..(or maybe it's 50K? who knows?)

Steemit honestly isn't all that difficult, just got to write and comment and generally participate legitimately with others, when you do you'll grow faster than those that post something and pout a few days later when nothing happens.

Many people come to Steemit expecting a miracle. Like the want to make $1000 on the first post. If it doesnt turn out that way, they lose zeal and give up. I think the solution is "proper orientation". What you have written here should be available for every newbie to read. The growth curve will not be steep but will be asymptotic 😃

Sure... you can beg for delegation, pay for it or use bots, but you still have to put the work in. The more work that you put in, the better chance of being rewarded.

renting SteemPower (delegation) is leverage.
it works...good plan.
but you can only rent if you HAVE the rent.
that by itself takes some work.

I wasn't on the platform, but a couple of weeks to determine that this ain't a get rich quite adventure. However, I'm loving every post and comment and interacting with people from all over the world. Making money plays second fiddle to the joy of the experience.

Well, for people who buy in as dolphins and whales, it is a get richer quick scheme, because building up the Steem POWER by buying helps boost articles and gets followers and lets them do other things like create post bots, pay for vote bots and make money as a witness. Someone with the initials J and B has done this scheme well.

Thank you for the reply. I lost quite a bit of money with an early crypto scheme in the early 2000's called DXGold. I'm not about to put up front money for anything I can't get delivered to my door again.

Donto just come for the reward , but cime to make impact . let the world feel your impact

Come here and teach others the little you can and avoid plagiarism

Help other people rise. Check the blog of your followers,upvote them, add good cmment to their post and if you like you can even resteem. With that , you are already a eucess.

Be constant and try to maintain your niche, dont be the jack of of all niche and master of none.

Contest is a better way to also make it. With this all, hope to see you on top!
