Wondering about your self-voting?

in steemit •  7 years ago

Thanks to @steemreports I finally a found way to see how much selfvoting I was doing.

They put out this post today:

https://steemit.com/steemit/@steemreports/voting-charts-with-diversity-indexes/

http://www.steemreports.com/outgoing-votes-diversity/gini-simpson/?account=freebornangel&days=14

It's 1.6% of the time.

Nice.

A lot of those selfvotes are on comments with one or two votes but less than .02 payouts.

I vote those so that the little guys can have a curation reward, it could be their first.

You got to do what you do.

If you change my name to your name and put that link in your browser you can check yourself, or anybody else.

Outlook not so good

Hi! I'm a bot, and this answer was posted automatically. Check this post out for more information.

Ouch,...

That's so funny...lol.
Hey...I have no idea how everything works as far as curation rewards go. Actually....I'm a bit clueless to most stuff around here. Kinda learning as I go. Can you point me in the right direction? Is there a quality video out there that simplifies everything? I did see videos....but there are so many. Thanks in advance. : )

Mostly you just want to power everything up that you can.
Trade your sbd on the internal market by setting a sell order just below what the current trade is, ie, if the current trade is .82475 then set your trade for .81 or something.
This gets you a little more steem for your sbd.
It doesn't always work, sometimes the market goes up, but that is a risk to take.

Once you have 500sp you get the slider and you can vote at a lower percentage to get more than 10 votes a day.
Once you have that you can hodl your sbd by setting sell orders on the internal market well below the market price to take advantage of spikes in the price of sbd.

@timcliff is the guy to follow for more details, he is really helpful.

So, put out good content, hodl your sbd, power up all you can, and next year you should have more money than this year.

Thank you sooo much for taking the time to answer me in detail. I'm going to check out @timcliff now.
I hear so many different directions when it comes to Steem/Powering up and SBD's....I have mine set to 50/50 and learned how to do the market thing. I didn't even know there was a market for SBD's too. : )

As long as sbd trades for more than one usd on the external market you are ahead to take 50/50.

If sbd is below one usd then you want to power up 100%.

If you go to the internal market now, one sbd is 1.18 steem, if you took 100% power up then you would get ~.25 steem for it.

The internal market tracks the external markets close enough that there in no need to pay the fees associated with sending it and trading it, then sending the steem back.
You would lose money on the fees that you get to keep by trading internally.

You get to the internal market by clicking your sbd in your wallet and choosing market.

blocktrades works better than the internal market though...

How so?

I use it and don't pay any fees to power up.

I really don’t have any idea about this curation rewards. I was intrigued where they get those calculations and how would the shares be given. Now that I read your post, all of my questions in my head were answered. Thank you for sharing this. I am looking forward to your more posts.

@banjo, do you know how curation rewards work?

Not quite. Will you explain it to me?

Nope. Are you actually a robot, or are you secretly a person?

Person.

How come you're called banjo bot then?

Because you are talking back.

Your reasoning is defective.

I have been a bad boy...

Ehh, you got to do what you do, if it wasn't allowed the code wouldn't allow it,...

It's really nice of you to keep on upvoting the 'little guys'.

Only that way we are able to survive in the Steem-swamp :)
