How long before advertisers discover Steemit and deploy their own bots?

Let's face it it's bound to happen. Sooner or later if Steemit grows advertisers will see the potential to access the potential customer base. We already have a bot problem on Steemit what happens when those bots start to be backed by advertising dollars? I ca see the day when you type a post about your favorite beverage and get beer or soda ads. Mention pokemon go and get spammed with cheat and hack ads. Even better mention Steem and get plastered with ads for faucets and exchanges.

Unlike the bots today these bots will have funds at their disposal to combat the so called "good" bots with steem power. Why have one bot when you can power up your own bot army or pay someone to do it for you? The next big product for Steem/Steemit could be and ad service that does just this. Companies buy ads and they use the revenue to deploy bots to do the advertising.

Just another potential chapter of the bot battle that will eventually unfold on Steemit..

There is one currently spamming "news releases" clearly trying to get backlinks for search ranking. The recently announced update sounds like it will make quick work of this problem.

You have a link to that update announcement. Think search is still down.

Thanks. I thought I read that one earlier so I skipped it. Turned out it was just a similar topic for tag spammers.

I still think bots/advertisers will find a way around it though. Human votes can be bought after all.

Downvote the bad advertisers and everything will be fine.

All advertisers can do is post articles to promote their product.

If they get up voted they make money else they will get lost.

Steemit, the website company could add adservices of course.

People can write bots that would post replies based on content with ad banners or other pics. For instance one might see "make money" in your reply and reply with "make money fast ".
