I don't like Steemit turning off the comments just because you have low ratings. The comments is good way to get feedback form people that read your posts. So if you get a low rating for that post they turn the comments off. So how am I sussposed to know that my post is good. That is the main thing that gets me motivated to post and if I am messing up on somthing in my post I would know with comments. So I think Steemit shouldn't turn off comments just because you get a low rating they should just stay on.
So Steemit keep the comments on even if someone gets a low rating PLEASE!
You can still view them if you want. This was implemented to hide spam and bot comments. If someone got a low enough score to be hidden it means they are either a bot or have been plagiarizing others works.

It's not the post's ratings that hide some comments, it is the rating of the commenter. Some people have low ratings because they spam with a lot of unrelated comments or they are bullying people, so their comments are hidden or greyed out.
Keep posting, man! Watch for spelling mistakes and break longer posts into paragraphs. Don't forget to up vote other people's articles and comment on some, but make sure the comment is positive and is related to the post.
