The Pareto Principle. Why You Should Stick with Steemit! I'm Going all In!

The Pareto Principle

The Pareto Principle was created by Joseph M. Juran back in 1896. In this principle, it's stated that 80% of your effects come from 20% of your causes, also known as the 80/20 rule. Why I think this applies to Steemit is because 80% of your income on Steemit will come from 20% of your posts or work. As you're following grows and you find your niche in the Steemit community the 20% of your posts will also come at the end of the posts unless you just happen to luckk out. What i mean is in your first 20 posts as you find out how Steemit works, figure out what you enjoy sharing most on Steemit, and build your following the last 2 - 6 posts will probably be creating most of your value.

Don't Give Up

Inspired by a post from @hannahlicious yesterday I also want to encourage people to not give up on steemit! I think most people get frustrated when there posts don't take off as well as their introduceyourself post did, and feel like the 2 or 3 cents they are getting off there content is not worth it. You have to learn to walk before you can crawl. You have to input the time up front (80%) to get the rewards at the back end (20%). I'm setting up the following challenge for myself:

  1. Create one value added post per day
  2. Highlight a fellow Steemian or Steemians aticle (like @dogwithablog)
  3. Focus my time on Steem to make it as productive as possible

In Tim Ferriss's 4 hour work week he talks about how it's not about how much time you put into mastering something, but the quality of time that you put in. You don't have to put in 10,000 hours to become world class at something. He believes you can do so in as little as six months. While that is good news that you don't have to put in 10,000 hours to become a master of Steemit, you're not likely to become a viral sensation on Steemit over night. Take your time and put in the "x" months of dedicated time to find your passion, figure out about Steemit, and provide content to help others become the best! In time you will find out that you're either meeting or exceeding your goals!

As always I want to here from you! If you can comment down below someone with less than 100 - 200 followers that creates great content, but you feel is under appreciated let me know down below. I'll be sure to check out there content as well as your content! Hopefully we'll be able to build up this awesome community together one little newbie minnow at a time!

Tim Ferris's 4 hour work week was an amazing book. If you're into processes and systems check out the Work the System audiobook. I went and grabbed the link http://www.workthesystem.com/share/

Hi, this is a great, positive post! I had no idea what the Pareto principle was.

Thanks!
