Back to normal. These stats are kinda the baseline :)
As most of my "Followers" know, I recently came across some users who are simply trying to gain followers using sneaky practices on Steemit. Please read this post to understand why I started generating this report.

You are free to make your own judgement, I am just empowering you with information.
How this technique works
1. Follow thousands of people in hope that they will follow back in return
2. Some people do follow back (in-fact a lot do!)
3. After a few days or weeks simply unfollow all users you had followed
This makes their followers numbers more than following and to a newbie user visiting the profile, it seems that these are really popular users.
Steemit is very different from the typical Social Networks and we all know it. With this report, I am not trying to point any fingers and you may have legitimate reasons to unfollow people in thousands! I am just trying to bring more transparency in the platform. The aim is to make aware and discourage people from using such practices which otherwise work perfectly on other closed Social Platforms!
This is getting serious day by day. Help me tag the right group of people who can create rules around this! UPVOTE and RESTEEM, Help spread this report.

It would be almost impossible to spot such activities on other social networks. This is how Steemit is different. End user transparency is invaluable.
Otherwise I think these techniques miss the point, it's about the quality not quantity of followers.

Thanks a lot @vitkolesnik. You are right it is about the quality of followers. These people are doing more harm than good to themselves as it is so easy to catch them red handed :)

Thanks for the good work. I actually thought about how this would work, glad to see there are those keeping an eye out, we need fewer rules if we can reward people for good behavior and call them out for exploitative behavior. I can imagine how some people might want to unfollow a lot of people, mine is getting really cluttered.....but thousands in a day!

Thanks a lot for your support @whatamidoing. Yea, we should have some rules around this. This behaviour basically puts off everybody and especially the new users who are trying to create a following genuinely. Unfollowing is not a bad thing.. it's there for a reason. The problem happens when it starts to get exploited!

Hey @gyanibilli. These reports are helpful for the community, including myself as I found 4 of my followers in the list you had published.
Also, I am minnow writer on this platform and was seeking for help in any form on steemit. Have done a few articles but haven't got much traction. Your response will be awaited "gyan se sarabor billi😺"... Peace ✌️

Thanks @vinyprop. Glad that this report helped you identify the shady followers :) Like you I too am a minnow on this platform :) However, from whatever experience I have gained, if you are creating quality content then there is nothing to worry. It surely will take time, I mean nothing comes instantly. It is easy to get frustrated and patience is necessary...and you seem to be doing well..over 200 on a post is not a bad start! None of my posts has ever reached that number :)
