Whether you've had a long day at work, or just stressful day in general and need to relax, there are always options to calm you down. But what happens if you don't want to get out of bed? BED YOGA OF COURSE!
A good position to start with is putting your legs up on a wall, with your back laying down on your bed. This helps completely rejuvenate the blood flow in your legs and will relieve the tension of a long day on your feet.
The next position is childs pose. This is where you are on your knees, but lay back in to it (check photo if unsure). The head is on the knees and this makes you feel as if your whole body is relaxing but also stretching. I find that if I stretch out all of my body before sleeping I have a much better nights sleep.
Thirdly, lay down on your back again, bring your knees to your chest and grab hold of your feet. This is wonderful for stretching out a lot of your body and helps the days worries melt away!!
Lay down on your back with each of your limb out slightly. This position will help you almost practise being in bed but will allow you to begin your breathing exercises. Try not to think about anything else other than breathing.
If you don't already have a relaxing breathing technique, try breathing in for 5 seconds, holding for 5 seconds and releasing for 7 seconds. It is really important to hold the breathe in between as this has always helped to relax me further.
