We all have friends who we can, or even should, recruit onto Steemit. Yet while some people bring dozens of new users on board, others struggle to get a single friend to join.
What's up with that? How can we get better at recruiting new Steem members?
Who do you know who should be on Steemit? Do you have a plan to get them here? Let's think about strategy in the comments.
I have been punting it to just about every content creator I can think of. The problem is that it's so involved getting the steem withdrawn that people freak out and leave it. My Brother in law helped me set up my Luno, Bittrex and Steemit accounts. Without him I would never even have considered joining, so I do believe that people need to be introduced and guided through the process. And then seeing it as an extra platform to post on instead of trying to get lots of 'likes'. I'm still learning how to make the best of it. If I find a video that helps me I send it on to my friends so they can learn from it too.
People are very suspicious of cryptocurrency here in South Africa. It's like a mystical mysterious world that only computer masters can access. I know nothing of markets and trends and when to sell and such, but getting paid for posting what I would be posting on FB anyway seems like a good deal to me :) That, and if withdrawing costs too much I can buy stuff online with bitcoin on Takealot :)

I can dig that. Having someone who helps and gets you set up must be a big bonus when joining a magical new world like cryptocurrency.

People are still suspicious of what it is or they say they don't have time. Steemit still offers a fairly small audience compared to something like Facebook, but musicians stand to make money from it. I'll keep mentioning it, but don't want to hassle them

The frustrating thing is people who sign up but only post once or twice. They get so close!!
