This article is based on an opinion that I did some time ago and one of my classmates after a few weeks blogging on the platform, maybe serve as experience to some when it comes to directing the promotion of Steemit to new users.
Now, in my beginnings in this page I was quite excited with the idea of winning posting as I would normally do on Facebook, I spent a little over 2 months with that mentality in my head, mentality that passes to several of my colleagues including this one of which I'm going to tell you this anecdote.
It turns out that he is a very committed designer and quite talented too, so I said to him one day "...and well how are you with the platform...have you won anything?". Truly, with his conviction, he could get money from anywhere, he had worked in several Internet projects such as Humanatic and more but I think the answer he gave me clearly defines why Steemit doesn't work for many freelancers.
To get deeper into my colleague I tell you that he had left a few years ago his job to devote himself fully to freelance, his most frequent jobs were for the design aprtado and the niche of copywriting for companies, which paid him something decent for articles of about 1000 or 2000 words, usually his pay was up to $50 that, once passed through the formalities of the platform + taxes he had uos 15$ for use.
Now, I left him a steemit account of your own due to the first problem that highlighted me some time later: It is very complicated the registration to the page, if I am an influence that needs if or if I start creating content at the time I discover the page and can not ... What would I do? I'm wasting time and time is money so I'd pass by steemit. Something concrete that opened my eyes completely was: people are not going to starve for two weeks to start publishing on the site.
On the one hand I was right but then I continued: "another problem that really intrigues me is the steem power" I explain something that although I knew told me with an extra detail quite revealing. Anyone can circumvent the system with a few thousand dollars, that voting power that controls the visualizations, the money that the votes give and even the strength of the votes of those who "maintain" the platform and the blockchain, all that can be manipulated, only whoever does it is missing.
I believe in Steemit enough to say that just 2 years after his first post has achieved an incredible community owed some advances in technology and teamwork, so I think that these two problems that I raised that day are no match for the good ideas and conviction of users of this platform. No doubt you are working on it!
