@gavvet, @dragonslayer109, @knozaki2015 and @stellabelle
These users offers a "featured" service. They publish other authors content using their accounts.
The three first mentioned ones share 100% of the Steem Dollars with the Author they feature. Stellabelle shares 50%. However, stellabelle's service aren't identical to the others. Stellabelle does "secret writer" stories which basically is a way for authors to publish their posts anonymously. (Only Stellabelle and the author knows who the real writer is.)
All of these people are making a change. All of them are contributing to steemit by doing this. All of them offer help to others.
There might be more people doing the same thing, more users who offers the same service. If that's the case, let me know and I'll put you up in this list. Or, if you want me to delete your name above, let me know and I'll do it immediately.
This is quite amazing.. And It inspires me.
Unknown authors or people struggling to get exposure can "borrow" their accounts and publish content..
To get a "featured slot" you'll need to produce good & original content. - But these users are getting swarmed with authors who begs for a slot.. So it takes time to finally see your post being published.
- Their queues are long. Be patient. Suddenly your post is published.
I've had some great success on steemit so far and I have always published my own content using my own account. I've built my reputation and my following.
However,
I'm a huge fan of what these people are doing so I asked for a chance.. And I got one. I will be featured shortly by one of these users. - Like others, I had to wait. Several days actually. But I will shortly be featured. Soon my post will be published. - And I'm excited!
And now, I'll tell you why I've decided to do this.
Like I previously stated, I've had success so far. I've gained more than 170 followers and I've reached a reputation of 62.. And I'm thrilled about that! I'm truly happy!
With that being said..
I'm a full time freelancer. I work online and I've been doing that for the last 5 years.. And that's why I treat this as a business. I can obviously not depend on steemit earnings alone as my only source of income and I would never expect to make money from my content. I've been here long enough to see that it takes more than good content to reach good payouts.
But I still treat this as a business. I need to treat this as a business.. And you know why?
- Because that's who I am. I am that kind of person.
Ask any of my former clients. Ask any of my friends or my relatives. Ask my co-workers. Customer care and support is something I honor. Something I believe in. And I always help whenever I can. I give people guidance and advice.
That's also one of the reason I try to answer all the comments in my posts. I interact with people. I want to share my experience, my thoughts and my ideas. And I want others to do the same with me..
What does all of that have to do with being featured?!
I want to be featured so I can get more exposure.
I want to be featured so I can reach more people.
I want to be featured so I spread my wings further.
And what am I doing by doing that..?
I increase my credibility and my reputation. At least, that's what I'm hoping for.
Without this chance to be featured, then I wouldn't have reached all of their followers, all of their readers.. It's hundreds of people who potentially never would have read any of my posts..
This is a huge chance. The potential is amazing and I would be lying if I told you that I'm not eager to see my post being published. I can't wait to see the results this might bring. This can lead to even more followers. More friends.. And even more interaction..
By doing what I am about to do, I will spread my wings even further. I will exist.
Take the chance if you get one. Just do it!

People should know that I came up with the Secret Writer project well before Steemit even existed. It's first home was on Medium. Mine is a service that provides people with an outlet to relieve pressure from holding back taboo information. The real benefit I think is that you get to see people's comments to your secret and you never have to reveal your true identity! I am taking a small break from this project for a few days because it was becoming a drudgery task so everyone needs to be patient with me. I'll get the secrets back up once I feel more energized to do it.
I always encourage people to publish their own stuff, on their own accounts, to build up their reputation and followers. My service is kind of a last resort one, for more desperate individuals, who feel too scared to attach their own names to it. That is how the service was first conceived. It's not one designed to draw attention to people's accounts, but rather an anonymous service. I do not accept anything that is not a secret from a person. In other words, you cannot send me a secret that is not yours. I don't want to get into plagairism territory.

This looks like a great idea. Is there a specific process to get one of these steemers to feature your work? Should they be tagged in the post, contacted on chat, or some other means? thanks in advance.

Do you think being featured will translate into your own account growing? I've heard others say that once the feature pays out, things go back to the way they were. I'm hoping this is not the case, and will be watching your experience to see how it goes!

Let's put it this way:
I do believe that it could do just that. I believe you can get more followers and readers on your own posts. Perhaps it's a longshot, perhaps it's more likely that I won't gain a single follower from my featured post.. But it's a chance. A chance I wouldn't have got if I wasn't featured.
If I get featured and I publish one amazing story and people like it.. Then there's a chance that these people will start to follow you. I mean, why shouldn't they? - I don't care about a random upvote here and there from people who doesn't like my content.. I care about the people who upvote my content because they want to. I care about the people who upvote my content because they like it.. And if they like my story, there's a chance that they will look at my other posts too.. And it's a chance that they start to follow me so they won't miss any of my future posts.
At least that's what I'm hoping for and to me, it seems very logical. :)

Correct, I don't have exact stats but some gain a lot more followers, others don't. Some see a marked improvement, others don't... It's easy enough to work out
I haven't checked all... but I know some have come back saying things have really changed for them... others haven't come back. So I don't know in all cases.

Would you look over some of my stories if you have time? I would love some real input as to formatting and getting my message out. I hope to help homeless people with my posts and I am not a professional, I just want to be more visible. Thanks and I cannot wait to see your featured article. Followed.

Yes, featuring is one great option to get paid on steemit. I would invest the Steem Dollars in Steem Power. The more influence the more you can serve your followers, your community.

Thanks for this!
I was featured by @dragonslayer109 and it worked well for me to get more to transfer into Steem Power.
I explain my experience with it here and talk about the resulting steemit debate/ confusion about being a "featured author".
