Hy everyone, Its that time where we get to know about another steemian. But before that let me say welcome to everyone viewing this, this is THE INTERVIEW; a publication created by the one and only @jemimah in this community with the view of getting steemians to speak about this platform and how we can get better, also it's an avenue where we get to know each other better than commenting on post, following, and the normal cycle on steemit..
The first edition was a success, thanks to my one and only Lena (@soldier) for helping to start this innovation. You can check that publication below:

Today i will be sharing with you my little discussion i had with another steemian..wanna know who??.. Sit tight and be ready to read.
Ladies and gentle men, beautiful and handsome steemians, I present someone whose name alone says all about him, I can call him a steemit tycoon or mogul because he deserves it. With over 8000 followers (can you beat that!!) I give you steemit most fearless personality..
@jemimah: Thank you for giving me this opportunity to have this conversation with you. Can you give us a little introduction of yourself?
@papa-pepper: In real life I'm a husband and father living in the Ozark Mountains in the United States. I've been self-employed as a sub-contractor since I moved here two years ago and have worked in a variety of handyman, property maintenance, and construction jobs.
@jemimah: Interesting. So how did you get to know about steemit and what sphere of life do you post about?
@papa-pepper: Before steemit I did not go online very much at all. Maybe a few times a month, if that. A guy I knew told me about steemit and helped me get started. I was amazed that people could get paid for posting here, and began to try to post for a while, but had no real idea of what I was doing. A lot of what I was posting was random things to see "what worked." These days, I just have fun posting about life, interests, and hobbies, and people seem to enjoy it. It is nice to be able to share things with so many people who also may enjoy the same activities.
@jemimah: lucky you, it seems a lot of people really do like your hobbies..I'm a fan also. Tell me, so far what have been your pains and gain as a steemian?
@papa-pepper: My pains and gains have been many, but these days the gains outweigh the pains. One of the biggest pains can be balancing life. Since I am a very active user and near the top for all time post count, it takes a lot of time to be on steemit as much as I am. I wish that there was more of me to go around too, since there are so many authors that I love, but just don't have time to read or upvote them all. The fact that we will soon be building a house would be the biggest gain, since steemit has made the way for us to move forward with our future plans.
@jemimah: Wow that's what i call a Gain! Is there anything you can suggest to improve the current state if steemit?
@papa-pepper: I wish that there was a way for us to design our own homepage. These days, when you go to someone's page, you can see whatever info and images they put at the top, and then the most recent posts and resteems, and that is about it. Obviously we still have to get the resteems to show up somewhere else and only have blog posts from the actual author in the blog history, but I wish that we could organize things a little better. A chronological blog history is only so useful, and looking up posts from an author can be a very labor intensive task. If the authors could pick some of the favorite tags that they had posted in or put some of their favorite posts on their home page, I think that it would be a huge improvement.
@jemimah: That sounds more like a papa's advice..that will be great if it could be that way. Okay, so what can you say about steemit in the next lets' say 5years
@papa-pepper: The future of steemit is a peculiar thing to speculate. For one, each new arrival needs to "test it out" to "make sure it's real." Between that and the strong economic oppression going on worldwide, it'll be hard for many steemians not to keep cashing out. For a very long time I only sold SBD and held all my STEEM, just because I didn't want to sell any STEEM and add to the decrease in value. I think that we see now that we truly have a valuable community with out own currency, so I believe that it'll keep growing and improving. As long as we don't mess something up with a hardfork, our only other real threat is something better coming along. Of course, if something even better than steemit does come out, that'll be good for everyone the world over. I know that I kind of did not directly answer the question, but that's my answer anyway.
@jemimah: well to me you answered the question perfectly. Thank you very much sir. Lastly what can you tell other steemians especially newbies here?
@papa-pepper: I've given out a lot of advice in my time, and even put out an 18 part video series for newer users. My advice is basically summed up as this. Be original, be yourself, be consistent, be courteous, be encouraging, be helpful, keep improving, and mix and mingle. If you do those things, you'll be heading in the right direction. We've got an amazing opportunity here, and it is worth investing time and energy in. Just don't get discouraged.
@jemimah: one more thing please, why the name "papa-pepper"?
@papa-pepper: Because I'm a papa and I love peppers
@jemimah: That's thoughtful of you and nice...That will be all for this edition of THE INTERVIEW. A very big thank you to @papa-pepper for this conversation. I hope to get to his level one day here on steemit (ssshhh!! don't tell him I said so). Also i really appreciate all my viewers out there for reading this..
Another edition will be coming up shortly and this time i've got someone very interesting..wanna know who?? Follow @jemimah for the update.
