3. https://v2.steemconnect.com/accounts/create allows using Steemconnect to set the account up yourself as long as you have the Steem to fund it!

This wouldn't be as much of an issue if some time had been spent investigating whether other methods of paid sign up exist. We got the issue sorted up in #witness on chat, but still; this is something that could easily have been avoided. The last thing Steemit needs is for new users to find Jerry's method, pay the fee, and then realize afterward that there were cheaper methods.

FYI if after 2 weeks you still haven't been approved if you sign up again using the same information you did the first time accounts have been approved within an hour or two. I know this because my oldest has issues signing up and so did a friend and Ned came in chat one night and told us instead of paying to sign up to have them do it that way, I told my daughter and friend to do what he said and both of them was approved within a couple of hours.

I don't understand how you think this is a 'good' service. No one in their right mind would pay money for something that can be acquired for free. The service by anonsteem costs just 10 steem and you get back more than half of it as steem power.
You already earn hundreds of dollars from your posts, wasn't that enough to satisfy yourself that you have to milk extra money from prospective new users.
