Thoughts on the first Steem City Niigata meetup!

For those that don't know, about a month ago, I started a new community here on Steemit called @steemcityniigata. After planting that seed, pretty soon @boxcarblue (he had been thinking of starting something similar) joined the project and we teamed up to decide how the whole thing might work.

As it stands now there are five vesting members, and several other members who are non-vestors, but who can utilize the account's posting key to post and receive exposure, a chance at greater ease of networking, and the synergy (and its financial benefits) that come with belonging to a group or community both here on the platform and in "real life."

@steemcityniigata is working towards establishing an independent barter/trade/support/steem economy both online and off for Steemit users located in and around Niigata City, Japan.

I hope that this initiative will encourage others to establish similar independent markets and hubs, in the interest of increasing quality of relationship, financial freedom, and just overall well-being and quality of life for each individual member, both online and off.

To hear some thoughts from group members about the meetup today, please check out the post over on @steemcityniigata! It's a group post, so for 7 days it is an open work in progress, with multiple bloggers editing and uploading their thoughts. Be sure to check for updates!

If you don't mind I am gonna message you after we get moved to pick your brain because I want to start up one around here.

Sure thing. Anytime.

Niigata's meetup was also nice!
I hope someday we can do it together:D

Me too!

It is super awesome that you've got your community going on - this is what will bring steemit one step further. Also I am very humbled to see my blog being resteemed by you :) cheers

Thanks for putting out the warning man. Much appreciated.

seems like having so much fun with family. .. amazing capture ☺

Sounds like a great idea to meet like minded individuals @kafkanarchy84. Would be nice to have a local group in Ohio!

I'm in Michigan, maybe we could get a rivalry steem community going...

@jbcoin you won that gravy boat I heard? Congrats man!

Haha...thanks. Of all things to win lol. We actually had our Thanksgiving on Saturday and I realized that I no longer had one? Later in the day...BAM....just like that..won a gravy boat. Problem solved 😁

Sounds cool. Id love to setup a Seattle meet up or something.

I hope this continues to go well. I started something similar @eastcoaststeem & we have a discord too. Hoping to get some traction for a meetup soon. Thanks for sharing this. I feel more encouraged. =)

Once I get more used to Steemit, maybe I will do the same thing for Jerusalem, Israel where I live.

That would be excellent.

Yeah, we need some something that is geared for empowering the average citizen irrespective of religious background, nationality, etc. That might great a kernel of stability to a fractured environment.

Good initiative to get a platform where thoughts of different people can be shared and can be used in the formation of sound society....hope for the success of @steemcityniigata...

Had gone through your group post of @steemcityniigata.It seemed the steemit community of Niigata had a great time along with their families . Good wishes for this community.. may you'll achieve success in this project.. It's an inspiration for us as well..

more power to you guys for spreading the goodness about #steemit

Wow great job, you are rocking in Nigata city. Good luck.

Excellent promotion, you have my support at least energy and at a distance :)

Group post sounds awesome. Too bad i can only vote once ! Otherwise I'd do it for every update :) steem on guys! @steemcityniigata is a hidden gem of the Japanese steemit community.

Thanks brother. We're growing slow and steady it seems, so I'm feeling pretty good about that.
