Thank you, @abit, for downvoting my posts that get big "whale" support. I really appreciate that.

I like to see them go from the top of the "hot" page to several spaces down in a matter of seconds, effectively killing their momentum, and taking them away from the eyes of non-whale Steemians who would have otherwise seen them, and perhaps voted on them.

Let's get one thing straight, I am not complaining at all. I am doing very well (in my opinion) on here, and remain really...grateful.

Beyond this gratitude there is the added bonus of your bot downvotes.

I enjoy watching the price spike, getting that heroin rush of Steem fever, and then immediately watching a 64 dollar post go to 12. It helps me stay grounded.

I am glad new users will see my posts with three flags next to them, and think somebody really hates my blog, and that I must be a spammer. I love that. It is a way to test who my true friends are.

Thank you for designing an almost designless experiment and launching it without warning, abusing a feature designed for spam and shitty, abusive posts, to make sure whales do not get too carried away in supporting posts they like on this stake-weighted voting platform where they have paid for/worked for their stake.

I love you, @abit. I think that maybe I said that too soon. Shoot. embarrassed now.

I will say this, your "experiment" really has (all sarcasm aside) improved some things around here. Power has been, in a very real sense, redistributed, and things are looking good. I have more voting power than ever, and am enjoying it.

That said, the ends never justify the means. This thing is really a morale killer, unprincipled, and confusing for new users.

Looking forward to the next hardfork when this madness abates.

Anyway, thank you, just for...teaching me how to whine a bit less...or, at least, sublimate it into bizarre, mostly-sarcastic-but-half-honest, Steem posts.

Sucks :(

You can do ok, but not too ok. Ok? Gag.

That's the part that induces my gag reflex, as well.

You should go and read SGT Report's complaint about flagging here:

https://steemit.com/economy/@sgtreport/the-great-steemit-secret-and-pedogate-update

He's brand new to Steemit, and is already bringing over lots of new users due to his big following. (I've been following him for years.)
So he gets flagged down big-time on the very post where he is promoting and saying great things about Steemit to his followers!
In the comments you can see lots of people saying that they joined Steemit because of Sean.
This is nuts. I'm so glad to have a reporter of Sean's caliber come to Steemit, and then he gets soured by this type of behavior.
It's very, very discouraging.

That is a bummer. Did any of the flaggers state their reasoning for flagging?

No, but they must have thought the rewards were too high and too many whale (and almost whale) votes. Although I'm pretty sure that none of whales gave a 100% vote.
The thing is that he talks on the video about how "benevolent anarchists" created Steem and how YouTube has taken away commissions, and how Steemit is this great alternative.
Then this happens to him and now he may not stay on Steem since it seems like more of the same to him.
I know that us long-timers have reluctantly accepted this new state of affairs,
but this "experiment" has gone on for far, far too long now.

By the way, do you have any idea when the next hardfork might be?

Totally agree. It's just a morale killer, and abuse of the flagging system. I hope he stays. I don't know when the next hardfork is, but there are still lots of good whales out there fighting this stuff.

nice write up. The community is always a lil strange.

I guess there must be a reason for the downvoting. This should be properly addresses

Thanks buddy! Faithful as always! Knocked this one down about ten spots! ❤️❤️❤️

I'm pretty sure he doesn't do it manually.

Right. It's a bot.

Just having some fun.

Can you ask your supporter not to vote you up with full strenght? If its under 700MV it won't trigger the flag and it seems like most "whales" who are aware of it don't seem to mind voting with a smaller strenght plus it would automatically lead to them voting on more users with their daily voting power.

I've asked, and he responded, but has yet to change it.

But this downvoting is not a solution either....
