In this video tutorial I show you 3 ways to format your posts on Steemit for better readability and engagement.

You will get more upvotes, resteems, and comments by following these easy-to-use tips.

I see a lot of unformatted posts on Steemit and one of the great things about the platform are the blogging features like:

  • social media sharing
  • Google/Search Engine Rankings
  • WordPress-like formatting

So here are 3 quick tips to help you format your posts better:

Headers are like H1, H2, H3 in blog posting that make the text larger and separate major parts of your post.

This is an H1 tag

This is an H2 tag

This is an H3 tag

This is an H4 tag

This is an H5 tag
This is an H6 tag

As you add more hashtags (###) to the beginning of the line, your headers will get smaller and smaller.

I like using Headers to separate different sections of my post and to make it easier to skim for the reader.

Emphasis is an easy way to do bold, italic, or both bold and italic

You can also combine them

This helps you put emphasis on certain points of your post and really hit a home run with your point of view.

As Kanye West said:

We're living the future so
the present is our past.

Blockquotes are very eye-catching and add an air of authority to your post.

I like using blockquotes for quoting philosophers, book authors, and other important points in my post that come from elsewhere.

These are also great ways to spice up your posts and break down the formatting in a unique way.

Once I started implementing this formatting tips into my posts I saw engagement and upvotes go way up!

Great & Easy tips Kris, I totally forgot that you can optimize the posts for google (in fact the search function here on Steemit uses google). That means that if we optimize our posts that they will be found first by steemit users using the search engine here.

Nice Easy tips Kris, thanks.
