I am currently buzzing off my nut here, I never thought I would have such a successful post I am simply blown away. A massive thank you to @tombstone for voting up my story , it truly means more than you know.
I have been trying to get motivated to get back into writing, I used to be constantly writing songs, short stories and I have always wanted to write a novel. Well this year I started, so far it has been going well. Since starting on here I have been writing another story, one that ties into the reality of the one I had already started writing and I have been posting it on here since I joined 12 days ago.
The atmosphere in this community has been amazing, everyone I have encountered has just wanted to make steemit better and to provide decent content. I have been a bit obsessed with steemit finding a place where I could safely post my original work and getting real feedback from an active community.
I have been sitting at my computer every spare moment I have writing, reading and voting I love being able to show people that you think, what they have produced is worth something even when it's just 2 cents. I have found myself glued to my screen waiting for a comment or a response from someone else, the suspense when you post is thrilling. Steemit is a drug and I am addicted.
It is 1:50 am now and I have spent pretty much every night online, until anywhere from 2am to 4am at the worst. My eyes are no longer cooperating voluntarily and I have come down with the flu, I choose steemit over sleep and now it's catching up with me.
2 hours ago I was fading for the night when I thought I would go and grab another coffee, to help fuel my steem addiction. However when I returned with my new cuppa, I refreshed my story to see if everything looked right and I didn't need to change anything - when I realised my post was suddenly worth almost $300!
I have been going insane over $10 and $12 post I have done, thinking how amazing it was people were reading my stories i was stoked. When I saw the figure I was in complete shock, I simple just didn't think something like this would happen to me - Nothing like this ever happens to me, feels like it's raining money.
I was so excited I did my own little happy dance, squealed and then I literally called my mum to tell her the news. I am just so far beyond thrilled I can't believe it happened to me, I feel so amazing. I have never been involved in anything like this before, I have never really had a community there to take an interest in what I was doing.
I have been bouncing off the walls for over 2 hours now, the adrenalin burst was insane. I am just so happy I never thought something I wrote would achieve this much success, thank you so much to all those who have voted. Not only for me, but for anyone whose content you find interesting and helpful.
I no longer needed the coffee to help me keep going. So I decided to start writing this post however it has been two hours since I started writing this and I have noticed that the later it gets, the longer it takes me make sure what I've written makes any sense.
I am beginning to fade again, so I think it's time to post this and go to bed but I might just grab one more coffee first. :P

In fact, it makes perfect sense to be excited by stuff like this. Steemit changes so many things for the better.
While we're most certainly still in the expierimental stages, it's thrilling to watch this community blossom. Intriguing fact about all this, too:
I keep reading people asking where the money is coming from. I'd like to settle this one: The money is coming from the value that people assign to what you produced and put on Steemit, coupled with the value added to it by the STEEM blockchain. Good show!

It's so awesome to see, so many people take an interest in a topic that needs way more attention than it is getting.
