How does one Get 100 Votes in Half an Hour on almost every Post?

in steemit •  8 years ago

It is getting hard to understand how this happens on a regular basis. I understand the talent of an individual but the fact that they post something at anytime of any day and it immediately takes off like a Rocket.

Where are these People? and How does this happen Every time?

Maybe I am lost or just getting frustrated again, but it is like @Alwaysfelicia said, it seems like if you have a Rep of above 60 you are guaranteed instant Votes. These people need to stop giving the same people Hundreds of Dollars a Day and Spread the Wealth amongst new people. It is almost a Laziness to Voting, in this manner. Again, these people are Super Talented, but do not need to be given the Red Carpet on a Daily basis.

We are giving these Artist more on here than they could ever sell this Artwork for, does this make sense. I have never seen anyone offer to buy any of these pieces either. I have nothing against the Artists, but we are Voting in a manner that makes no sense.

Example: Opheliafu just put up a post half an Hour ago and it is already over $400

She is talented, but these votes are coming too quick not to question...

A) Assuming you're right:

OK, it's bad. Like so many things in life. You discovered it.
What's important now ? Understand your position, the platform and act. Complaining doesn't help you or others in the long run. But I understand how you feel. Most of us were/still are in your shoes. I'm sorry.

B) Assuming you're wrong:

You'll notice it immediately with only a few comments to your post. Or complete silence.

ACT.

@fishborne, your last word said it all. Action is key. Taking action everyday regardless of the outcome.

The plight listed in this post has been expressed by many. Many of us feel this frustration, however it's still early beta so I'm willing to grind it out until we get more evolved, then evaluate if it's worth the time/effort given.

The most interesting aspect of Steemit, to me, is seeing if socialism will make its way here, heh. There are already warning signs to been: "Spread the wealth!"

Of course it's pretty obvious that most people who upvote popular content don't even read the posts, they are upvoting for the curation rewards.

However, complaining about it won't help. Work on your material, work on your following and keep posting. It takes hard work to be succesful, in any avenue of life. Steemit is no different.

Your top earning post is a personal story about your son. Maybe you'd do better if you posted more personal stories. An interesting story with a title that captures the imagination...

Besides that, I see that you have 29 followers, but are only following 9 people. Perhaps you should follow more people, and spend more time reading, commenting, and building relationships, and less time writing your own posts. It also looks like your only comments are on your own posts. When someone makes a thoughtful comment on my posts, I usually check out their blog, upvote something I like, and follow them.

Thank you for the response and yes you are right. I do need to read most posts from others. I think my downfall is I try to post as much as I can since my work hours have me closing everynight. I dont get home untill 10pm and usually leave round 10am so my time frame is small. I need to concern myself with commenting more. Thanks for the advice

Hope it helps. The more people on here doing well, the better chance I have of doing well. I'm trying to be helpful because I'm a selfish bastard, lol

How does one increase their reputation?
Mine has steadily been improving but I'm not sure why.

Note: the thirty minute rule regarding the value of voting is intended to discourage 'bots'. If I intend to vote I always wait for half an hour before doing so. Comments, such as this one, I make right away. (always vote for your self on your own comment, I've been told, to do otherwise is just like walking past a penny you see in the dirt.

You're starting with a faulty premise. That will surely become frustrating for you. The idea that you are "giving" anything, other than your appreciation in the form of upvotes, is unfounded. Steemit compensates people who add value to the network, and evaluates that metric by upvotes.

Artist don't normally get paid for mere exposure, but then most of the content providers here, never have. However, it cannot be said that they are not bringing value to the network.

Perhaps you would prefer the old model where artist only got paid for sales of original work. You can have that on Facebook or other legacy social networks. Meanwhile, they will be flocking to Steemit where they are not just appropriated, but paid.

This is understandable, but the same fact that the same people are getting the same attention daily, just proves the point that we need to spread the distribution. As we all cling to life hoping this platform does make it out of beta mode and succeed and trust me I hope it does. The mere fact that steemit was founded on getting paid for your content. This is a wonderful aspect, but most of the content being paid is that of pictures being posted, the same thing most were getting yelled at for spam. Mu complaint is not that I am angry because my posts do not get voted like crazy, its become what i am use to now and with almost 500 posts in a little over 2 months i have put my work in. I am not trying to argue with anyone and from the right of being able to do so, i am just getting my question answered on how this happens.

Thanks for your thoughtful response. You got my upvote.

More than likely they have developed a group of active followers. I hope to develop such a following someday.Meanwhile, I have great followers, some of whom will almost always upvote soon after I post something good.

I can only encourage you:

  • stay positive
  • be consistent theme wise

Best wishes,

Robert

Thanks for the encouragement. Will continue to do what i do.

They must have a big following.
