Promoting Steemit or any other application using the Steem blockchain is every Steemian's responsibility. Growing the number of Steem or Steem Dollar holders is the only way we can help the crypto-currencies increase in value.
In my post today, you will learn how you can get involved with the promotion of Steemit through your Facebook Group connections.
Before I continue, let's take a look at some interesting statistics on the monthly usage of Facebook.
On the 3rd of May 2017, Facebook announced that its monthly active users for the month of March 2017 were 1.94 billion users; that is more than 20% of the world's population.
On the 27th June 2017, Mark Zuckerberg posted on his Facebook page that Facebook officially has 2 billion active users.
https://www.facebook.com/zuck/posts/10103831654565331
Facebook has 1.28 billion daily active users on average for March 2017.
According to a post by Grace Duffy's on Social Media Examiner, 550+ million people visit buy-and-sell Facebook groups every month.
As the daily sign up increases on Facebook, so do the monthly users of Facebook Group increases. Presently, there may be more than 800 million people that visit Facebook Group every month.
After reading the stats above, I am sure you agree with me that Steemians should be using Facebook groups to build Steemit. It is a win-win-win situation for the Steemit promoter, Steemit, and Facebook.
- As a Steemit promoter; you get the chance to increase your followers from people that share the same interest(s) with you, which means more rewards for you.
- For Steemit; the platform gets more active users, an increase in the demand for Steem as more of those referred will be interested in powering up.
- For Facebook; their groups will get more active users and better curators of content that will keep more people coming back to the groups for more.
Now, I will guide you through a method of promoting Steemit without getting into Facebook's Jail or being labeled a spammer.
STEP 1: CHOOSING THE RIGHT GROUPS.
Most people I see using Facebook Group to get attention on their website are doing it the wrong way.
They usually find lots of groups in their niche, join all the groups and spam their website on the walls of the group all day. This method doesn't work anymore.
The best way is to focus on a few active groups. Active groups are groups where spam is controlled to the barest minimum, and there are more discussion posts than link spams.
You should also make sure members of the group comments on the discussion posts. Here is an example of an active group https://www.facebook.com/groups/1732782283656802/
STEP 2: BECOME ACTIVE IN THE GROUPS
All you need to do is to post, comment and make friends with other members of the group. It is important that you don't miss this step.
Don't go posting your links to the group as you may be ignored by other members or kicked out of the group.
STEP 3: FIND AND SHARE QUALITY CONTENT
Once you have become an active member of the group, it is time to share more valuable content. Search Steemit daily for quality content to share with the group.
Wait, should I not be sharing my Steemit Posts alone?
The simple answer is NO.
Sharing only your posts will get you labeled as a group spammer easily.
You should mix your shares with other Steemian's posts. In fact, your post shares should not exceed 20% of your total shares. That means, for every four quality posts you share, your posts get one share.
CONCLUSION
You should engage in this form of Steemit promotion to help build the Steem ecosystem, increase your followers & blog readers, and finally to get more upvotes which mean more rewards.
I wonder if something similar could be done on Twitter. We have to focus on pulling people from all sorts of internet communities to diversify "Steem". Hopefully, people are using the share buttons under each post.

solar charhers are just mny idea to help African Steemit users like @ortigas100 who go through places without any electricity and simply need a few extra hjours of charge to get online...they culd stay connected with people from around the world in the niddle of african countyr side...and all they need is a $9 solar charger?!?! To me Its such a simple fix! we should just flood africa with these devices so everyone buys one WITh their smartophone! we should make it so smartphones COME WITH these solar batery chargers!

If you follow this guide, and you post quality content; they will read here and wonder what the money is about. Soon some of them will contact you themselves hoping to know more about the Steemit website.
