My brother resents me for steemit investment, please tell me how i can change his mind :(

Hello, yesterday I showed my brother all the news, all the gossip, all the hype and importantly the facts about Steemit.

He seemed SO excited just like I was, but then again maybe I just suck at reading people...

Anyway, he woke up this morning, seemed real angry at me like a chip on his shoulder, i asked him and he said he'd thought overnight about Steemit and how it seems "to good to be true" or will attract to much "fakes and shitposters"

so yeah...he's pretty upset at me because his investment both in steem and steempower was quite large for our income....

i've tried explaining i made 0.25% of my steam power back in one day!, and also that it will continue to grow in time, he's a big "bitcoin guy" so maybe if there's any of you out there you can have advise how to get through to him BTC isn't the only way for the future?

what can I do to turn his mind around, niether of us are the best at "talking" so if someone here could kidna give an outside perspective and anything I could do to change his mind for the better that'd be awsome...

Thank you steemit :)

I think that maybe it is something only time can tell. If he's already made his investment then just wait and show him the returns. If he is too salty about it, he broke investing rule number 1 and 2;

  1. Do not invest any money that you are not prepared to lose in its entirety.
  2. Do not invest any money based on emotions, and don't let emotions control your trades.

I was considering paying him back, but it might be a better idea just to wait it out, tbh if it works out as I plan, steem day trading, and steem posting should both be generating massive returns shortly.

You say he's a bitcoin guy but does he understand how it works, or has he simply invested in it on blind faith? It sounds like he may not quite "get it" because if he did he'd understand by watching what's happening with steem that it's well on it's way to becoming huge.

My advice is probably not practical but I'd say just let him sit on it. He'll come around once he sees that his steem is picking up and that investment is growing.

He has seen the graphs, and the numbers, but he often works on emotion so he simply "feels" like it's a bad idea now, i'm not sure whether it's just attachment to bitcoin, or a lack of faith in myidea haha, but basically I done a lot of research, then made my case for him to invest, and he did.

That's pretty much what I suspected.. Things involving trading and investing don't mix well with "feelings" most of the time. The good news is that even though your brother may feel bad about steem he'll probably feel a whole lot better once he realizes just how much potential it really has. That or simply when he notices the value of his investment has gone up :]
