Here Are The Main Things You Need to Know to Begin Earning On Steemit
Quick steps to begin implementing if you don't have time to read all of this post:
-Write 2 posts per day
-Use Minnowbooster to get your posts into the hot section (more visibility)
-The first sentence of your post, the thumbnail & the title have to be outstanding
-Join Steemfollower
-Use a specific thumbnail design so people can recognize you
-Document your improvement in a hobby or on Steem on a daily basis
-Write posts about your favorite "followers" and ask them to resteem that
-Research & learn 30 minutes every day about Steem to increase your Steemit profits
-Proofread before you hit publish
-Always reply to comments & continue conversations
-Use Discord and the Steem chat to form more connections
-Don't beg for upvotes, resteem, follows or comments
-Write about your passion! Add emotion to your posts!
-Build a strong community
-Invest into Steem!
-Help to improve Steem itself in some way
-Post into challenges and contests
-Keep your power up when you do vote.
• If a post is upvoted the moment of posting, 100% of the curation reward goes to the author.
• At 3 minutes, 90% goes to the author and 10% to the curator.
• At 15 minutes, it's a 50/50 split.
• At 27 minutes, 10% goes to the author and 90% to the curator.
• If a post is upvoted 30 min after posting, 100% of the curation reward goes to the curator
VERY IMPORTANT
- Eventual popularity of the post (Total SBD generated)
- Your Steem Power (Your stake in the Steem pie)
- Timing of your vote (How soon after the post was made)
- Your Voting Power (How often you upvote)
***My general recommendation is - wait 10 minutes
for posts that are very interesting and likely
to be popular. 20 minutes otherwise.
If it's peak hour and a post is destined to
be Top 3 on the Trending page, take the penalty.
Vote within 3-7 minutes.
We have all been using Social Networks for some time. And yes, I will start this article assuming that this is the case, simply and plainly since (let's be honest). You are here, now using Steemit, which is not very easy for the user to navigate and is in its beta phase. (at the time of writing this article). So if you are making an effort to use this page and learn to navigate it being so different. Why do you do it? We'll talk about that in a minute.
PARTICIPATION
Yes, when there are a number of people sharing content each day, content is not expected to float for eternity. The idea is that people participate and show their interest and participate in the community. This is how the success of an article or publication or a YouTube video is measured. Comments, I like, Shared, visits; These are some indicators to follow when we measure success.
What does all this have to do with Steemit and get more votes?
As I said at the beginning of this article we have been using other pages for a while and they are much easier to use for their users. So why are we here? Money? Probably not your case, but since there are other sites with advantages on this as they are: Your friends are already there, there are many more users and greater ease of use are some to mention. It is safe to say that without incentives and the freedom of expression of Blockchain technology you would not be here reading this article on how to get votes.
But there is nothing wrong with the idea of being part of a community AND being rewarded for participating is heard very well. I am also grateful to be part of it. I mean, do you get paid to use Facebook or Twitter? If your answer was "no" then welcome to the club.
EXPECT THE KNOWLEDGE TO WORK
Now that you know how to really measure success you can start thinking about how to increase participation which will translate to Followers and I like it (votes in our case).
If you feel that your content is great and deserves more votes, hey! You're on the right track since you have to like what you're creating so that others may like it too. What I want to say is that if you create content that you do not even like, why should it interest others?
So here they are to increase participation in your articles and in any other network.
1 Be Yourself.
Many see the success of others in other large platforms of which we are members without any preparation and try to imitate the success of others. Desperately trying to be them.
When in reality what makes them succeed is to be who they are and the people who follow them do it for this same reason. You should not try to attract the followers they already have, but interact and attract people who share your same interests and that they will find value in what you have to offer them.
2 Find Your Niche
In the same way I understand that at first you do not know what you can talk about and it is always good to try some different things to see what works for you and what does not. You can also copy the strategies of other successful people (strategies and anything that helps you). Just do not do what others are doing to be equal to them.
It is almost always better to be useful for a small niche, believe me it always turns out that the niche is bigger than you imagine. (The internet is a very vast place). Your niche can be a topic like "Soccer" or a broad line like "sports", just make sure you know what you're talking about and that you like the subject.
In my case, although I publish about different things, my main goal is to share my drawings and that kind of thing.
Find something you enjoy doing and enjoy talking about it even when you are not thinking about creating an article. That will guarantee you an inexhaustible source of inspiration for future texts.
3 Interact with the Community
Do not just write and hope that people who do not even know you will vote and follow you overnight. Ok, your content is great ... And? Remember that the platform does not revolve around you and the people who use it did not register for the sole purpose of praising your great content. Make sure you enjoy being part of the community and interacting with others.
Try to be as genuine as possible. But it interacts with other people. That is, if you want people to follow you, become someone easy to love.
4 Share A Story
Although the DATA is important and there are successful people here at Steemit who make great money publishing about trends, graphics, data, STEEM, Steemit, Blockchain and things like that. It does not necessarily mean that it will work for you. Are you a genius of DATA? A genius of crypto-coins, maybe? Do not? Read again about the Niche.
Now, although not everyone is good at writing a story, we all have one. Which is yours? What parts of it can you tell?
You do not have to worry at first about knowing about narrative and those things to start writing it. Do you need help writing or do not know where to start? Just be sure to include the following:
Introduction (25% of your story).
Confrontation or Development (50% of the story, the body of what you did and how you did it and the things you had to overcome to achieve it).
Conclusion (25% of the story) How it ended and the impact it had on your life (summarizes things).
And that is practically everything. You do not have to be an expert in narrative or anything like that just write your story and make sure your paragraphs are not so long.
5 Giving
Remember that Giving is better than receiving ... Ok, NO. But do not expect people to give you their time to read your stuff just because you think you're the best.
You have to invest your own time to build relationships and participate with the community so that others are interested in what you have to say.
If you have knowledge about something (The niche! Remember?), Then share that knowledge. I bet there are people who are also interested in the things you like and would like to learn from someone who takes the time to teach them. And as someone who did not always know what they know today, you understand that access to information is not as easy as it seems.
People will value your efforts and will follow you and vote if they think it's fair or think you deserve more for your contributions. You can give:
Tips
Tutorials
information
Encouraging Comments
A vote
etc.
Contributes Value to the Community
Not all your posts have to be tutorials and that, but I'm sure there are many other things that you can write about or make videos that other people can enjoy. They can be recent news or even a joke that cheers someone's day.
Remember that not everyone is looking for the same. Give what you have, put it within reach and people who seek that type of content will find it. Remember to share your thing with your other followers (Yes, those other networks we talked about before). If they are already following you there, why do you think they will not follow you here, too? You remember your motivation, the one that keeps you here in Steemit as we said at the beginning. That could motivate them, too.
Some wonderful information in here! How soon do you see Steemit updating their platform and making it easier to find content most relevant to your interests?

i think once Bittrex allows accounts to be created again, that will allow for more money to be pulled into steem. This influx should cause Steem's platform to improve by becoming more user friendly. Mt 2 cents...:) thanks for the comment...

I've been trying to get an account on there for weeks now come to think of it! It's not too hard to grab SBD though, I've bought all mine with LTC and ETH with no problem at all.
