Your eyes are no longer shut; you check the clock, 3am. Third night in a row you wake up at this exact time for no particular reason. You sigh heavily and stare at your ceiling, your peaceful mind suddenly flooded with unanswered questions. When, how. Why. “What have I possible done to deserve this” — the lies, the hypocrisy, the betrayal. You try to silence your mind and go back to your temporary escape from reality; a futile attempt. So you lie there, unable to rest, awaiting patiently the sunlight to enter the bedroom whilst your thoughts are piercing through your head. Finally, a ray of light creeps through the window – you can get up and pretend everything’s fine. After all, you know that everything will soon be fine because you’ve got yourself and that’s more than enough.
