[Discussion] The "forced" positivity of steemit users

I'm too new myself to determine if the positivity and niceness factor feels real or not. My content is generally positive and I think will catch on nicely if it is given a fair shot at some actual attention... and attention has value these days... I also prefer positive and respectful dissent than the abusive nastiness that shows up on other platforms.... thank you for being willing to raise this issue.

Well no one likes abusive content/comments but as far as i can see currently there are too many people just trying to grab on to every last upvote they can get. A great example is the first comment i got "greeting" me to steemit. I'm 90% sure he didn't read the post or even the title.

Sometimes it's a fine line. Personally I WANT honest, thoughtful feedback that can help me to get better. But cynicism and nastiness definitely get old fast.
