The best ways to get more followers on Steemit

Introduction

Everyone who is actively blogging on Steemit wants to build a network and gain more followers in the process, this is absolutely normal and a very satisfying experience when succeeding.

Gaining followers consistently is definitely not very hard, but it will cost you time. In this post you will learn in what ways you can improve your following and how to become a better blogger in general.

1. Quality content

In a previous article I have already stressed the importance of the quality of your posts. On your blog make sure that your articles are well written and easy to read; make use of the markdown styling options and some images to improve the reader experience. Also it's important that your content is interesting; think about your readers and choose to entertain or educate them (or both).

These rules also count for your comments; try to bring value to the platform or start a conversation, comment with a purpose! In my opinion comments can be written a little less professional though and don't require as much attention as your own blog posts.

Don't post 5 or 10 articles on your blog everyday, keep your content of high quality. Less is more!

2. Interact with other people

Learn to appreciate other Steemians posts: There are so much people posting daily content on Steemit; it's impossible to read everything, but it is possible to read a lot, laugh a lot and learn a lot.

New people are joining everyday: Go find articles which have similar areas of interest as yourself and start interacting. Look for a conversation and try to bring value to the authors post which he or she appreciates. Many times this will lead to a personal connection and a very great chance this person starts following you or reads your blog.

3. Introduceyourself tag/section

This is in my opinion one of the best ways to consistently gain followers every single day. Everyday hundreds of new Steemit users from all over the world are joining this platform and signing up.

In the introduceyourself category, you can meet so much of these people and start easy conversations. Give them a nice welcome, wish them the best and once again start an interaction! Make them feel home.

To understand how easy it is to get new followers by making use of this method, just put yourself in the shoes of these new Steemit users; they aren't following anyone yet, they still have a lot to learn and they want to connect with as many people as possible, ofcourse they want to follow you (if your blog looks nice, they will!).

In my opinion you can even directly ask these new people to check out your blog, but be careful if you do this because some people will react rather angry because of this... :') Let the haters hate I say! I recommend doing it as it will help you to move forward consistently. I do recommend to be friendly and return the favor of upvoting/following when they check out your blog or when they ask you to do so.

Try not to overuse this method or copy paste your message, to me it is fine if you interact with them at a later point in time but again overusing this method or copy pasting, will make some people mad. If you can handle the potential heat, go ahead I would say!

Remember that the followers you gain doing this, are all beginning Steemit users who have almost no voting power; they will not make you rich. However most Steemit users want to grow so there is a good chance some of your early followers become more powerful in the future and with time those accounts increase in value and influence. Basically every follower is a win!

Conclusions

There are a lot of different ways to get more followers and to expand your network on this amazing platform. The key to success is your motivation, your ability to write, your desire to interact with people and the quality of your content.

You can also try getting more views by sharing your posts on social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. I didn't mention this because it will not immediately lead to new followers since most of the time they won't have an account on Steemit, however it does improve your visibility and the popularity of your posts.
