Steemit Voting Power

Hello, I am new to steemit and have noticed that not all upvotes are worth the same. I have seen some articles with 400 upvotes and they have received less money than some articles with only 200 upvotes. I am wondering why this is and more specifically how it is decided which upvotes are worth lots and which upvotes are only worth a little. If anybody could tell me more about this it would be greatly appreciated.

Downvoting a post can decrease pending rewards and make it less visible. Common reasons:

  • Disagreement on rewards
  • Fraud or plagiarism
  • Hate speech or trolling
  • Miscategorized content or spam
