Maimun Palace

Maimun Palace has been named the most beautiful building in the city of Medan, North Sumatra. Located in Jl. Brigjen Katamso, this magnificent palace was completed around 1888 and is the legacy of the Sultan Deli Makmun Al Rashid Perkasa Alamsyah. The yellow stroke of this building is a typical Malay color.
Its unique architecture is the main attraction of the Maimun Palace. European influence is evident in the hall or living room, windows, doors and an inscription in front of the staircase that is inscribed with Latin letters, in Dutch. Meanwhile, Islamic features appear on the roof of a curved Persian style, a style that is commonly found in buildings in the Middle East region.
The inside of the Maimun Palace is also interesting to explore. Behind its sturdy walls, there are dozens of rooms spread over two floors. Splendor is also seen on the throne, European crystal chandelier, chairs, tables and cabinets. Family photographs, ancient weapons, including a prison room, are also in this palace. Although still store objects of historical value, Maimun Palace still allow tourists to visit and enjoy the splendor as well as dive the glory of the Sultanate of Deli past.
