My first 30 minutes on Steemit

in steemit •  7 years ago

As a new explorer of cryptocurrencies, I've somehow navigated the turbulent waters of the volatile markets and ended up here. While the concept of steemit is very interesting, I have a hard time understanding how it would work in practice.

Mainly, I am questioning whether the user engagement here is genuine.

After browsing through a few articles and reading the commentary, I get the sense that most participants and posters are looking for a quick buck. Sure, there are many high quality posts, which deserve the attention but some are simply cringe worthy.

  • How can honest user engagement be created with the possibility of a payout hanging over everyone's head?
  • How do you keep users engaged after they've been disappointed with their results?
  • How do we filter through the low quality posts and get to the good material?

As with any new concept, I guess trial and error is the way to go. Perhaps I'll find the answers as I continue to explore and participate. Looking forward to being pleasantly surprised.
