“Call me Ishmael…” -Moby Dick
It seems that there are a whole lot of whale hunters on SteemIt. That is understandable from the understanding people following after their own self interest. Unfortunately, being upvoted by a whale is a little like winning the lottery, or it will be as people flood into Steemit. For now it's probably more akin to winning at Bingo, but with a bigger payoff. It is still very hard to get there attention.
So until then you better learn how to catch the attention of some smaller marine life and keep it. Perhaps by narrowing the scope to a single subject matter that you are really passionate about. That way you build a following of people that share this same interest and are pre-motivated to upvote your blogs about it. This may take a little longer to build an audience, but they should be more dependable source of upvotes. Theoretically…
And who knows while you are out there casting your net on the water to build an audience, you might just run into a whale.
