IS THIS REALLY A PLATFORM OF OPPORTUNITIES?

Hello..
Welcome to my blog!!

We have seen Steemit evolve from a blogging plartform to many other things.. We have seen dtube, dsound and dlive, these platforms has offered a place to gamers, artists, entertainers making steemit a place where you can do anything..

Anything?

I don't think so.. Steemit may be great for bloggers but not for entertainers, not yet, not like this.. I mean look at Facebook, youtube and Instagram; comedians, dancers etc post their skits there to get recognition. Let's say I'm a comedian and i constantly post my skits on Instagram, If I'm good enough, I will start getting deals and jobs to perform. There can be a show in town and the organizers will be needing comedian and boom! I get a job and a job after that and after that.. That's the essence of social media, Exposure and Recognition.. Exposure for talents, businesses and corporations. And Steemit lacks that..

I know that likes are not monetized in these plartforms, but let's face it, the likes on steemit are not worth much either. Let's say a comedian keeps posting his skit on dlive or dtube, the only real upvote might get after months is upvote from dlive or dtube because not much people have the time to watch videos like the way they read articles. Even if you get an upvote that is not worth much, you won't get recognition because potential employers are not on steemit.. And over time you will starve. This applies to business owners not just entertainers.. Steemit focuses more on boring blogs than any other thing, which is why you see more talents on other social media platforms than on Steemit..

Steemit can't replace the centralized social media if they don't promote the platform.. The only promotion I see is beng carried out by the users not steemit.inc. We hardly hear from @Ned.. Every company have a social media account but they don't have a steemit account because they don't know about Steemit. Steemit needs to do better, why will i spend time promoting steem if the ceo/builders don't do that. Just imagine Medium, they are literally on my face, sending me mails every single day.. Eos is everywhere i look, people promote eos with everything they've got because they believe in @Dan.. But people can't believe on a person that constantly keeps them in the dark, and Ned is good at that..

Steemit.inc needs to entensively promote themselves before it can ever be the ideal social media platform. If not they should be a strictly blogging plartform, that way we won't expect much from them.

P.S. These are just my thoughts, I might be wrong, feel free to correct me in the comment section..

Thanks for reading..

This is good food for thought!!
If I'm good enough, I will start getting deals and jobs to perform
I completely disagree, it's more about how much money you invest to get more views and being seen, it some ways Youtube and Instagram are failed experiments, for people like me that are vocal against injustice, unfairness, that don't believe in the New World Order.

Because when you vouch for Youtube and Instagram, you are backed up by big corporates, that will control you.

Something that you forgot mention and that the biggest part for me:
CENSORSHIP.
How many channels closed down in the last year on Youtube because "Not complying with the policy", in other words, they were talking about subjects that bother these big corporates?

I am sure you are not aware of it, but the "Alternative Media" as we call it is dead, thanks to Youtube and Instagram, because their "Entertainers" like to show shallow content, for shallow people, for idiotic moronic sheep, and that's what is at the top of the "What to watch".

All the people asking questions are gone, and most of them just plainly got discouraged after years of work was closed down with a snap of a finger.
I had a news channel with more than 1000 subscribers, I was proud of it, do you know what is "Shadow Ban"?
It means that Youtube is having your IP address in their system and make sure that you sub count stay low, and your video will never be seen.

I am vouching for Steemit and any other decentralized platforms any days, because I can say whatever the fuck I want here, and no one can stop me to do so.
I couldn't care less being a part of the minority, this is where I belong, I don't wanna be friends with Facebook people, we are better than this!YOU are better than this too, we need your here :)

So that's actually the reality we live in, this is Us against Them and they have way more money than US.

To be honest, I don't think it's possible to compare Youtube and Dtube, or Steemit and Facebook, because they are born from a complete different ideology.

i totally agree with you dear.
more focus should be placed on publicity
real.... plublicity

Yep.. Thanks for reading, dear..

Steemit changed my life totally, I have met many great people here, this platform has really joined people... which no other social network has achieved, we have learned, shared experiences and knowledge, we have made true friends ... And although I am a little estranged as I am planning a trip, I do not stop believing and investing in Steemit... so I totally agree with you, something so good can not disappear so easily.

Well, I have met people like you here and that is priceless to me.. I hope you have fun in your trip..

I think you have a point.
Most time when you talk about promoting steemit most individuals will ask are you promoting it to investors, but they tend to forget investors get attracted to the trending topics, let's take MMM for example, most people got into MMM because it was everywhere, because of the level of promotion.
I have nothing much to say on this matter, rather than you are on point.

You are right dear, the importance of promotion can't be ignored.. Thanks for reading..

Hi @nmalove , well I totally agree with you on this, the only way I have seen entertainers reach the lime light on steemit is by promoting the platform with what they have got, self promotion as i have seen on steemit, really never work out, also the front ends we have for videos, the likes of dlive and dtube as you have mentioned, is most times difficult to access either to watch a video or upload one.

Steemit is a blogging platform, and it is more centralised that we think it is, that is why i believe @appics is gonna be game changer, since the idea is to reward passion and have an instagram like on the blockchain, since it is also built on the steem blockchain, the way forward here is basically for the entertainers to make use of it and hopefully, everyone will be happy.

I remember inviting a comedian to the platform, he was doing so well on fb, but he did not even stay on steemit, for 2 weeks, yeah maybe he was not really persistent enough, but preferred the fact that his content was been appreciated on fb and even with the monetary reward here, he left!!

Oh dear, You are so damn right!.. While Steemit is really trying, recognition is difficult here.. Well, I hope Appics will be do justice to that.. Thanks for stopping by..

hi

Steemit needs to do better, why will i spend time promoting steem if the ceo/builders don't do that

you can check @steemitblog to get updates about steem. hardfork 20 and the Smt launch by march.

Btc was promoted by its users as we dont even know the people who created the coin.

Steemit inc. is working so hard and have an admin communicating with her investors on the smart media group on telegram

@ned also take his time to promo steem as he is our no.1 Ambassador

Well i decided to come check you up

Steem on

I know that likes are not monetized in these plartforms, but let's face it, the likes on steemit are not worth much either.

I totally agree with you @nmalove am an entertainer on Steemit
I think every good entertainer doesn’t just want to make money but want their impact to be felt around them
I posted my song on Facebook and I recently got a recognition award for the song
Steemit is great but it hasn’t been promoted to a wider audience.

But I disagree on the ground that Steemit is for bloggers not Entertainer because even though you don’t get wider recognition for your art you get the monetary gain and with this promote yourself as an artist offline

Well this post was really helpful and enlightening
Thanks @nmalove

Thanks for reading.. I'm glad you find it helpful..

However, i never meant steemit is not good for entertainers! I implied that is it not favourable for entertainers now, because they don't get the recognition that other platforms gives.

I think you should understand #steem as a crypto currency with the ability to emulate the big boys of social media.
The only way for #steem to go big, regulation need to be in place. It needs to be a platform of rapport and then it will be like them.
This time is not far but a lot of works need to be there.
#steem is still viewed as a crypto.
Full fledge social media, not yet?
Other problem need to be resolved as well.

Do not count on it
