I'm sure many of you are familiar with Reddit Gold on Reddit. In case you aren't, it's essentially a super-upvote you can purchase for about, I think $3-4 USD. It bestows certain benefits like access to a special subreddit and advanced Reddit features to the recipient, but mostly it exists as a way to say "Hey, I really appreciated your comment"
On Steemit you always have the option of just sending money to a user directly. If someone posts something which really resounds you so much that you want to do more than just upvote, you can easily just send them some Steem or Steem Dollars, but that leaves no record on the post. It would be nice if you could super-upvote a post or comment by choosing to donate a certain amount to it. I'm assuming here that amount would go directly to the author and not into the voting payout pool (which I still don't fully understand - there's a good article idea for anyone who does btw)
Anyway, yeah, just a thought. Seems like it would be a natural fit for this place, being able to say "Here's a literal $0.02 or $20 for your thoughts". Opinions?
Oh, and the cabbage is because images on Steemit posts are pretty much mandatory, and I couldn't think of what the hell to use.
THAT WOULD BE GREAT
