Today is a remarkable day for Steem. As you probably know, Steem will hardfork to version 0.19.0 at 15:00 UTC. More info about this hard fork in this post. In summary, HF19 brings a massive shift in power from the whales to the minnows.
Tip: If you are used to vote at 100%, make sure you lower your voting slider to 25% after the Hard Fork. At least if you vote more than 10 times a day. A 100% vote will be 4 times more powerful once HF19 is completed.

I hoping for a boost in earnings due to better power distribution. Worst cases being 17 votes, 0.17 steem dollars. And 15 votes 0.40 steem dollars. Best cases being 48 votes 1.47 steem dollars.

I don't expect Steem will replace social media giants like Facebook and Twitter, but I do expect Steem to grow a lot in the months ahead. Time will tell how large our position will be compared to other social media.

To be honest iv'e been hoping it takes a bigger place in the social media world, the only thing i can really complain about on steemit is the profile UI isn't the friendliest for people coming from Facebook and twitter.

I am very curious about the changes coming with HF19. The new payout rules effect the current non yet paid posts, too. So you can watch the changes directly by remembering the prospected payouts indicated before and after the HF.
