I've described the power of networking on Steemit.
And have decided to create a slack for those who are interested in Steem networking, business and politics (i.e. choosing witnesses, promoting our own witnesses etc).
The best thing about STEEM is that it's governance is truly decentralized. I.e. enough of us could affect core infrastructure.
And generally there is a lot of business infrastructure to be built.
And early movers stand to make a lot of money.

Hi @positive, I have a quick question: what are the typical hardware requirements that are needed to actually be a witness instead of just a typical miner? Are they running like huge rigs, or is their main machine their actual "witness" and they have other machines just mining under different accounts. i.e. could an average person with a typical pc getting 30 Khps ever be a witness if they got sufficient support from the community? Thanks

I understand that witnesses are voted.
You vote for a witness.
