During the past few days, I hardly touch any dashboard.
Whether it's the SEND.EMAIL dashboard, Facebook Ads, or whatever.
Even if I check, I just want to see if my campaign sent normal or advertising budget is still there, that's it.
And before Lebaran yesterday, I had run a campaign on Facebook targeting a very specific person:
Someone who is not in my email database yet.
Yes, this special Facebook ad to bring in new people.
People who may not know SEND.EMAIL.
So here's what I do:
I uploaded all the email databases I have to Facebook to become a custom audience. I exclude the custom audience from targeting my Facebook ad. I chose Lead Generation as the advertising objective.
Then I left the ads running and I was stretched.
Last night, I checked the performance of his ads, and Alhamdulillah collected about 200an new email addresses.
As usual, I immediately checked the registered emails.
And as it turns out, I found people who have registered several times before in my database.
He is already on my list.Exactly 9 different list, see picture below (activate picture in your email.)

Though it is clear once this database I have EXCLUDE, so why this person to come back again?
Is targeting Facebook Ads already inaccurate?
I was reminded of a video about 3 years ago that once reviewed about how Facebook Ads potentially deceive its advertiser by giving a fake audience.
You can watch the video here:
So what really happened?
Some lessons can be learned from this incident
There are some of my personal notes about overlap data (overlapping data) that I experienced in my ad this time:
The first lesson: do not hang your business on Facebook Ads.
This is very often I write everywhere.
Do not trust your business on Facebook Ads 100%.
The world is not as wide as Facebook Newsfeed.
Facebook changes, its algorithms, its users, etc. Therefore it is ridiculous to entrust your business 100% on a highly unstable platform like Facebook.
Second lesson: keep a close eye on your ads.
Remember:
Not measuring = not advertising
Measure and closely monitor your ads, paying attention to every click, every dollar, every action, etc.
If you can not keep an eye on it, recruit someone who can keep an eye on it for you.
Remember, marketing = energy. For one channel marketing, I usually hire one person, so that all the energy is focused there.
The third lesson: bleeding.
No matter how accurate you target your ads, there must be bleeding.
Bleeding is the term I use for a target that goes wide or goes out of purpose.
Bleeding is fair, because in essence your ad will be shared by your target market, so it will attract people outside your target.
Fourth lesson: identify your target market.
Do you know your target market?
Did you know if he bought from Facebook whether he is a new buyer or repeat?
The easiest way I think to recognize your target market is by saving the email address.
Subscribe KIRIM.EMAIL?
With email, you are like saving "member cards" from your customers.
Already know why Indomaret always ask you have become a member what yet?
Fifth lesson: responsibility
Do not play a victim.
Facebook Ads often do not always go the way we want to.
Email us sometimes not read by our target market.
Our promotion sometimes failed or minimal buyers.
Do not blame, everything that happens in our business is our responsibility.
Take full responsibility for our business.
Everything that goes wrong with our plan should be overcome in creative ways, including Facebook Ads and email marketing.
Conclusion
From the campaign above, Facebook basically does not cheat me, yet 90% of incoming email databases are not listed in my email database list.
And its bleeding numbers are still very reasonable in my opinion.
So a temporary conclusion: Facebook is still a very good advertising platform.
Combine your Facebook Ads with Email marketing
As you can see in the above case.
Again an email gave me an insight that I might not get elsewhere.
Emails make me know very closely, heart to heart, with my customers and the people I'm targeting.
And combine Facebook Ads with Email marketing, proved once again, is very effective.
Email will help lower your Facebook advertising costs, and Facebook Ads will help improve your database emails quickly.
Jodoh ...
Therefore istighfar 3 times, and use email marketing for your business right now.
