Until now, Twitter Inc. reached out to celebrities and brands to verify accounts were authentic. You can now go online and apply to get one, although that doesn't mean you'll get a blue badge.
Twitter is hoping that opening an application process will result in more users finding key influencers and converting the logged out viewers to monthly active users.
I have seen many introduceyourself posts where there are comments verifying the original post is authentic. Do you think a crowd-sourced check is sufficient or should Steemit implement a new verification process? What would that look like? Input telephone #, confirmed email address or link to other accounts?
