I have been active on steem for just over a week. During that time i have found some people willing to follow me, which is great. Before i write my introductory post i want to think more on which topics i will be posting about in the future. I have some 50-ish SP underway from my activities during this past week.
However, i would like to reward those people that follow me or take the time to respond to my minnow questions. My current upvote does what you'd expect from a minnow bite, nothing.
My question is then, how much SP do i need before my upvote carries let's say $ 0,01?

If you want your vote to make a difference you will need at least 2,000 sp. keep powering up til you reach that at least. That will make your vote 3-4 cents but just as important your curation rewards will be worth while.

Thank you @solarguy for taking the time to answer my question. I don't have that kind of dough laying around but this makes it clear to me that grinding it out whilst posting will take way too long. I'll go secure some funds :)

Yea its not easy. It took me 6 months or so to get up to 5,000sp. Then i powered down to 2000sp and now grinding my way back up.

100% no outside money. Promise. I live in China as an expat, it's literally illegal and nearly impossible to buy BTC here for me.
I powered up everything for months and months or gave it away to earn followers, really. It was work. Nothing worth having is easy. Value does change for everything though. what was once easy is not now and vice versa.
But I really did earn all my SP without spending a single cent from my salary. You could too, it's work. lol. really. Look at my comments and replies, I'm active, it shows. I love it here even when I made 30 cents for a post that took 3 hours to produce. I could have worked at my job and made $60-100us for the same time I put in, but like I said I love it here.
Never put in a penny!!! But if you do it will pay off sooner.

Ah i heard about the difficulties with crypto in China. Cool though, living there. Lived in Beijing for two months, great fun .
What do you mean by: "gave it away to earn followers"? I might consider that because i'm gonna be really active as well, might be good to have some more people aboard.
